Fisheye Pan, #1

Pentax KX, KMZ MC Zenitar 16/2.8 Fisheye, Kodachrome 64

I was playing around doing low shutter speed panning with the fisheye. Waste of perfectly good Kodachrome? Maybe...

Steve

cool shot indeed.

Not a waste at all IMHO great shot, getting good results off panning is a true art, looks like you've got it in your blood

Taken just before the security guard told me to put the camera away.

But yet, no doubt, you could snap away using a phone camera or a P&S and they wouldn't care. Camera discrimination!

That is really nice and creative. Not a waste at all! Great shot and what a way to end the final roll.

Too True, security guards run rampant over anyone shooting with a nice camera.
All in the name of anti terrorism. I doubt any terrorist is going to shoot with a big SLR, likely the camera phone is what will be used. In the cold war days spies used minox and other tiny half frame and 110 cameras, not Nikon f 2 with a drive and a massive macro lens on the front.
If this was a public space and not a private one they don't even have the right to ask you not to take pictures.

now that we're doing cars....

New-to-me this past summer. It is dangerous to test drive a bimmer, as it turns out.

Steve, add me to list of people that like your fisheye panning shot.

I think we all know what security guards and even the 'real law' can be like with cameras sometimes. Not to get too sidetracked - but recently there was a ruling over here that prohibited photography on one particularly popular beach. There were many other strangely strict rules too that weren't related to photography. Thankfully this was appealed as ridiculous.

Sluggo, that BMW looks rather nice
What sort of engine does it have? A 3.0L? I'm rather unfamiliar with the BMW models. Except that the M3 appeals to me a LOT

cheers

Thank you all for the strokes on the panning shot.

As for the security guard, I just told him that I am a hobbyist and did not know that photography was restricted.

You got it right. The "530" in the model name means 5 series, 3.0 engine (inline 6 cylinder). Since taking that shot I've added a custom license plate frame that says LUDDITE PHOTOGRAPHER.

Very nice Colton, I like the colours in the second flower shot a lot.

I'm a fan of inline 6 cylinder engines, although my car only has a little 2.0L turbo. The 'LUDDITE PHOTOGRAPHER' label is rather funny!
