Happy 4th - that's Louis Armstrong's 'official' birthday, and my grandmother's too.

Therefore, shot with a 1975 Communist Kiev 4 / Jupiter 8M. But dag nab it, good cut rate Kodak ColorPlus 200 film.
Nice series Jussi, I especially like the colors on #3 from the Kodak ColorPlus.

One more Olympus Trip and in low night. Kodak Ultramax converted to BW

I don't often comment on colour shots but I love that one. The Kiev 4/Jupiter 8 combo is a great outfit. I must get the light leak issue sorted on mine because the Jupiter 8 is a really nice lens. Might even try some colour film in it.

Hello everyone, I'm going to do something a bit naughty and post this snapshot here:

...It's a photo of some film shots! Lately I have become interested in film printing, and had my first go at home tonight. If you're curious, I encourage anyone to give it a try - it's seriously easy and a lot of fun. The enlarger and most the accessories only cost me $20.
The film used was Kodak Panatomic-X, a lovely but expired and discontinued film.

cheers
very, very cool !!!

More from my ME SUPER, SMC-M50F/1.4 and Ilford XP-2. I should mention that XP-2 is normally not this grainy. I purposely underexpose it 2/3 of a stop to get the grain as I am a grain lover.

@Nesster, thanks for the "New York 4th" series - I have to agree with Vendee on the Delmonico's shot. It really is something special.

@Dave, Ultramax B&W conversion looks great and I really liked the red truck a couple pages back.

@Jason, good on you for doing your own printing. I'm not quite there yet <g>.

@Colton, congrats on the Nikon EL. I got the 50mm f1.8 with my EM. That 1.4 you got is looking good.

@Javier, thanks for making me miss my ME Super more than I already do

Jealous as hell of all of you for having had the time to shoot some film <g>. I shot my first wedding last weekend and a theatre project for my wife over the past couple days - all digital. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have wanted to do either event on film. I know the extent of my chops with a film camera. In the immortal words of Dirty Harry "A man's got to know his limitations". That being said, I'm jonesing to get back to my film cameras, hopefully this week.

Happy Independence Day to those of us in the States and best to all,
Kevin

Very cool! There is nothing like watching the image form in the tray. Are you going to scan any of your Pan-X negs to share?

Steve
I agree! Yes of course, I have just been a bit slack on scanning them. Have had lots of 120 stuff to do. Haven't shot too much of the Pan-X yet (3 rolls), but I will scan some more soon.
Did you receive the rolls that I remember you bought online a while ago?

Nice work Jason. I have done a bit of that over the last few years and it sure is fun.
I actually have everything needed for darkroom printing but nowhere to set it up
Thanks Colton. I don't really have the room either; I was kneeling on the floor doing with the enlarger, the trays took up all the available bench space.

Thanks Kevin, I do encourage you to have go sometime if you can. It was quite easy and fun.

Happy 4th July to all you US folks
Once again the photos posted here have been great. Special mention to Jussi for the last few from NY!

cheers

Was it foggy?
I like how you do grainy, dark shots. You make them work IMO where I would just make a mess.

Fair enough, I'm kind of waiting for a special occasion or opportunity for my next roll of Pan-X too.
But here are some photos from the second roll that I shot. They are a bit 'snapshot-y' but may aswell post them.

@Jason, Pan X is killer - love how clean the look of it is, particularly "Outside the Apple Shrine" <g>.

Dipping into the archives for this one. I've been wanting to post it for some time.

I had been past this monument several times and never noticed the necklace. When I did, it brought a tear to my eye.

Best to all,
Kevin

Very nicely captured Kevin.

I purchased the Nikkormat EL mostly because it came along with a very clean, working Neoca 2s rangefinder. I new virtually nothing about the Neoca but it looked very interesting and it seemed fairly well made so I purchased it all. As soon as I got home, I loaded an old 24 exp. roll of Arista EDU Ultra 100 in the Neoca and went for a walk.

Here's a pic of the camera next to one of my SVs,

and one from the test roll,

Most of my shots are slightly out of focus as I need lots more practice with rangefinder focusing but I think the rangefinder is accurate.
