Nice series, but I REALLY like that last one with the sunlight streaming through the woods. Dreamy.

@Colton and hollywoodfred - man, medium format even makes Superia 400 look good <g>. I've never had much luck with it in 35mm, but I'm liking what Fred's getting out of it. Maybe it was the lab I was using at the time. (Funny thing is I liked Kodak's consumer films and preferred Fuji's pro films, although now it seems I'm shooting mostly Portra as it's all I can get from my local guy).

Best to all,
Kevin
Thanks Kevin,
I was quite surprised at how the Superia 400 shots turned out on medium format. It's much better than I was expecting. The creek shot was probably under exposed by 1.5 stops and in PP I pushed the blacks to give it more contrast but I like the way it turned out. The rhododendron shot almost looks like Reala to me. It really is good film, even in 135. In 120 it's not exactly inexpensive film though, considering you can get Portra 160 & 400 for the same price.

Nice shot Colton, how is the 300mm for hand holding or did you use a tripod?

Phil.
I used a tripod
The creek shot was a 1/2 second exposure which from a shutter/mirror shake stand point is about the worst AFAIK, and it looks pretty good considering that I'm using a Slik Pro 400X and the original 3 way tilt/pan head which is probably a little light for that combo.
I doubt I will ever try handholding that combo.

Yeah I have only used my 67 300/4 using a tripod, yours at least has a proper tripod mount. I just checked the weight of your newer 300/4 and it weights 220 grams more than the old one because of the extra lens elements.

Found this interesting rail car last week, the second shot is a close-up not a crop.

Pentax 67 with 90/2.8 (Fuji Provia 400X, skylight filter, lab processing & scans)

Ah, yes; film. I have thousands of slides that lay in state in those round slide magazines. I have hundreds that go back to the 40's that were taken by my dad, all hidden away now in the back of a closet. I love their color. I may break out my old film cameras and take some more flim pictures. One forgets their intense color.

These are by no means any good but these are some of my favourites from my first roll through my K1000, Still learning. Shot on superia 400 using a Pentax A 50mm F/2, are the photos too big?

Hi:

Good start with your first roll, I like the 4th shot. To shrink the width of the attached shots just edit your posting and add "wide" after ""
