Mount Adams WA, 8 months after a forest fire.
KX with 55mm/1.8 on some slightly purple E100VS.
They always look better on the light table... scanning is tough.

Wow. I especially like the third one - although the focus is slightly off it looks amazing !
I had KX for some time but due to sight problems I had a massive trouble to get the focus right - I prefer MX since then for its split image screen.

Thanks for sharing!

I don't know where they got it from, but it stands in the British Museum, around the back inside the wonderful new entry hall.

Shot a roll of Velvia 50 through my newest toy, an MX with M50/1.4, both serviced by Eric last month. Just got the lab results today. Scans resized for PF, otherwise untouched.

A departing storm

some clouds at sunset

And no post from me is complete without a goat.

cheers,

They are a different animal, very entertaining. I've been told goats are known as the barnyard clowns.

Thanks Phil. I think the scariness comes from the eyes. But don't get caught with your back to one when you are both on the same side of the fence. Sooner or later they will decide to butt you. In this particular shot, I think he was just curious if he could eat the camera.

Pentax MX, 50/1.7, Kodak BW400CN

Pentax MX, 28/3.5, Kodak Gold 200
No LR preset can duplicate what comes out of those little yellow boxes. (what's left of them that is, tear)

Too true. I find so many shots that are taken with film are inexplicably interesting while the same shot on digital simply wouldn't be.

I completely agree. I guess that is why "old film style" filters and presets are so popular (not my style though). I find myself converting a great majority of my personal digital work into B&W simply because I am hardly ever satisfied with the digital reproduction of colors. However, Pentax's digital colors are certainly better than most.

A few more recent shots, with the KX this time. I used a M50/1.4 again with Ektar 100 loaded. As usual, lab processed and scanned, resized for the forum.

Eight round bales

Coleus triangle

I'm really partial to these slower films, like Velvia 50, Ektar and Gold 100's. After every spent roll, I grab one of these next, even though I have some 200 and 400 speed available. I suppose if I had a specific project or event in mind, I'd pick the right speed for the setting.

cheers,
Fred
