Any folks from Chicago in here? I'm heading there this weekend for the first time, wondering if there are any "off the beaten path" areas I should check out for photos. I'll have a 20mm, 55mm, and a 70-210mm zoom for my ME Super, as well as my Hasselblad 500 C/M w/ 80mm Planar.

I'm aware of the popular places like the "bean" at Millenium park, the Sears Tower, skyline views from the planetarium, Hancock building view, etc. Probably going to try to visit the Polish neighborhood and whatever else my hosts take me to see. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated,.

I was in Chicago last year.

This boat tour was great for architecture shots:

Loving this Rollei Retro 400, and is great at 100. AG Photographic even managed to get the film to be flat as a pancake!

Wow, that's a really nice shot. I got a roll of this film and then realised that I almost never shoot ISO 400 film... I might just try to use it at 100, though I'm not short of ISO 100 speed film...

Thanks Phil! this is not the first time I've heard this recommendation, so I think I will do my best to make it happen. It sounds awesome. I assume it's easy enough to use a tripod on the boat. Do they stop and let you off at certain points to take more time with certain buildings or areas, or is it all on the boat?

No stopping on the trip, but the boat does go pretty slow so no issues taking pictures, You will want a wide angle of some sort as you get pretty close. I also used my Fa43 a lot for more distant shots. Not sure on a tripod, but a monopod probably is ok. Arrive early so you can get a seat in the last row or along the sides.

The first : it's in the south of France, near Marseille, it's called Sormiou.http://goo.gl/maps/uPLfV
The only accès is road or hike. By road, you can only have the right to pass the police roadblock if you have a table reserved at the unique restaurant in Sormiou.

the second : it's "Callanques d'En Vau" in the south of France, near a city called Cassis. Here is the link on Google map http://goo.gl/maps/9Al7d.
Either you walk about an hour and half to access the beach, or you do 30min of sea kayaking (what we did) from Port Miou (the sea port just on the East). probably one of the best place i've been.

For both place, the police do some roadblock, and check ID for every people that come in or out from 6am to 7pm, they can seize lighter or match, or anything related to fire to prevent any start of fire during the summer.
Policeman are usually with loaded flashgun, firearm, tazer, just like they were defending an ambassy.
if a fire start somewhere in those place, fireman probably can't stop it, and the fire would be in the city (the 2nd biggest of France) so fast, that police and army do take this thread very seriously.

Cruise ship at Canada Place in Vancouver. (P67 & 300/4 shooting Kodak E100G)

Tried a different way of metering and used the Pentax Spotmeter V’s TV IRE scale, interesting concept.
