I decided to try a roll of Velvia 50 a couple of weekends ago, although as a lifelong Kodachrome user it felt like sacrilege somehow. It turned out to be purest bliss to be out and about shooting slide film again for the first time in a decade, using the same K1000 that I got for Christmas in 1980 when I was 16. These two are both with the Super Takumar 20mm, reduced to digital quality with my Samsung GX-10 and a crude home copying rig. If I'm going to start shooting slides again regularly, I'm going to need to invest in a decent scanner.

As the open season on metropolis academica appears open - University College London - Senate Building
MV and 28mm - Fuji Superia 400 -not a great scan (no longer use that processor) the neg print is much sharper.
This has a 1950s magazine feel about it.

Nice pic, but to be pedantic Senate House is actually the home of the University of London, not University College London!

Also supposedly the building Hitler wanted to run Great Britain from if he was successful in invading...

Came out well. I know what you mean about Kodachrome though. Scanning to a high level is always a problem. If you can get to 2400 dpi, the results are reasonably good.

A couple more from my recent weekend with a roll of Velvia 50, plus K1000 and Super Takumar 20mm. I think the soft edges are caused by my rough-and-ready home copying rig using and old M35mm/2.8, rather than by the wonderful classic Takumar used for the original photo. The edges and corners look fine on the actual slides through a high magnification loupe.

Nice ones! I think the lighting, colors & interesting subjects more than make up for any technical issues here.
