Personally I still have to find the "right" color film for me: so far I've mostly shot KodakcolorPlus (horrible!), Ultramax (better), Gold 200 (average) and Superia (average), I like none of them, while with B&W it seems that at least I get decent results even with difficult light conditions.

Or perhaps I'm not good at that's it.

This pic wasn't easy but came out pretty well IMO.

I used Ultramax if I remember correctly in a Leningrad rangefinder and a Jupiter-8.

This one should be Superia 400:

This should be a bokeh study with Kodak Gold 200 and a Zeiss Sonnar 1.5:

This one Fuji 200:

All these pics were shot without lightmeter using the old school Sunny 16 rule. I am not satisfied with any of them...perhaps I still have to learn.

I feel I have been working too much to take pictures! I finally got a few rolls developed.

Pentax K1000 + SMC 50/1.4. Kodak Tri-X

Picking up the brother at the bus stop (it turns around up the hill before stopping). Canon + Tamron 24-70 + Portra 400.

Nice shots, but first is up side down, which I assume isn't deliberate.

Cuthbert : I notice on some of your photos there is evidence of 'flare' caused by either a fingerprint on lens or a scratched lens -- the lens glass is VERY SOFT compared to window glass-- you must not wipe it with fingers or a scarf or shirt for example !

Which pictures are are you talking about? For the first two I shot directly into the sun, so I expected some flare...unfortunately I didn't have any anti-UV filter of the size of the lens, and I didn't use a hood either (not that I think it's useful when you point directly at the sun) , but do you think that the problem is in the lenses?

Ok, I give. What then are you supposed to wipe it with?

I can understand fingers due to oils, etc, but a cotton t shirt is certainly softer than glass. So long as there is no foreign object present on the cloth or the lens, I don't really how cotton t-shirt material is much different from a cotton eyeglass/lens cloth.

Obviously, if foreign objects like sand were present even the most sophisticated lens cleaning cloth could scratch the lens
