900 post? WOW...This is really a tribute to all of the participants. As I said in the beginning. This is ''OUR'' thread and bravo to all the posters who still believe in the beauty of film

Thanks Javier.

I gotta tell ya though, when I scanned the first strip of that film through the 4400F with the Canon software I thought I'd completely screwed up the processing...

because that frame should have looked a lot more like this (from K20D):

On towards 1000 then!

I believe some of these was posted on the forum elsewhere before, but not in this thread...and I did not get much feedback anyway. Let's see what you like them. They are taken with that ilford film that are processed in C41 (forgot its name), ISO 400, Pentax Super-A with the SMC Pentax-A 50/1.7mm, mostly wide open. My kids were baking chocolate cookies...

Is this Lenardo da Vinci or Michelangelo?

hello

i'm quite new to film photography, but i've been watching for a while (i've seen some fantastic photos on this thread) and finally decided to join.

pentax mz-7, takumar 105mm, fuji superia x-tra 400 (and newton rings):

(i saw the question being ask before: got rid of newton rings by simply reversing side when scanning the film. the curvature is no longer downwards, but upwards from the scanner's glass.)

pentax mz-7, (no name) carenar 200mm, fuji superia x-tra 400:

pentax mz-7, takumar 50mm macro, fuji superia x-tra 400:

Love the whole set, your kids are expressive, and you got in close which is good. I'm repeating this first pic because before I read what those were I was thinking meatballs...

Ilford XP2, there's a thread opened just for this film here somewhere...

Thanks Douglas. To be perfectly clear though - that's posted just for example's sake of what the other's colors *should* have been. That photo itself is digital - from my K20D.

For the record - Canoscan software SUCKS unless you really really like blue/purple images. But VueScan and a bit of trial and error over the past couple days gave me these. Not the best, but not bad IMO for a 4-way first time out.
Odd, I just scanned a huge box of old family pics, mostly Polaroids from the late 60's and early 70's using Canoscan software (8800f) here . We used my Mac and an old Toshiba with Windows XP I dug out of the closet and used just for scanning (it is happy to be used for something again) and we don't have any blue or purple issues.

Douglas...Those family shots are great! Real classics! The first really does look like "God's finger" from the Sistine Chapel.

Maybe the 8800F comes with better software? Or just works better - it is a grade up from the 4400F. The 4400F came with "Canoscan Toolbox 5.0", and you see the result above. It does fine for B&W though.
