Forest road - Tanzania Mt Meru National Park winter of 1992.

and

Game - Tanzania Serengeti National Park, winter of 1992

Both taken with Pentax LX - scan from slide using Epson V700. Film Kodachrome. Unsure about lens info. It has been a few years since I took the shots.

Both great shots! Man, I wish I got into film before Kodachrome stopped being produced.

Just got my first slide film exposures back. This was my first time shooting color slides, so I was pretty excited to get them back from the processing lab. I had a hard time getting the scanner to get all the detail out of them though. I finally found some settings that get most of the information out of the shadows.

The color and definition limits of the web really don't compare with what I see on the light table with these, but I am somewhat happy with how they turned out.

Here's one, taken with a Zone VI 4x5 camera, Fujinon W 125mm F5.6 lens on Velvia 100 film

Thanks Colorado.

I often found Kodachrome to render to warmish reddish colors to my liking, so I ended up shooting more and more Fujichrome Velvia and some Ektachrome.

These days I shoot an occational role of Fujichrome Velvia 50ASA and I really like the results. Will post some later, just learing to scan so I am a bit slow. .

Regards
Baard-Einar.

I agree, that landscape shot is superb. Keep 'em coming, Colorado.

Baard-Einar, yes I used to like the way Kodachrome rendered reds and yellows. It would also do a decent job with blues, especially the sky with a polarizer. But greens with Kodachrome were often flat. I found that Fujichrome 100 handled greens much better (back in the 80s, just plain old Fujichrome was pretty much all the E-6 I shot). These days, I'm rather fond of the often spectacular saturation achieved with Velvia. Just wish it weren't so expensive, or I'd be using a lot more of it.

Here's a 35mm Velvia slide I shot a couple years ago. I digitized it with a slide duplicator setup I used, the heart of which was a 55mm f/3.5 Micro Nikkor connected to a 10.1mp EOS Camera,. I have a 24,3 mp camera now, so I need to reshoot the slide and see if I can coax some more detail out of it,

Here's a tight crop of the above image:

Speaking of Velvia, this is what happens when you cross-process it. It's pretty extreme, this was 64ISO and was too bright before PP so 80 might have been better. Still, it's wacky and I like it. Taken with Cosina CX-1, my favourite compact.

To add to that, another from Sheffield. Olympus XA3, Lomography 400. Look at that British winter sky...

Shots with my niece, Rachel. I am certain that I not only underexposed, but underdeveloped as well. sigh, she likes them.

BTW:

Some of you may remember Javier (jgredline), the user who started this thread. After a significant absence from posting on Flickr, Javier reappeared recently to my great joy. I thought perhaps he might have been hit by a bus or something. It was good to see that he was still in the land of the living
