I love those too - it's a 'where's Colton' sort of hipcat series.

A little Velviating, Provianating motorcycle comparison I did for myself. The first Provia 100f from the Pentacon Six TL with Biometar 80mm 2.8. The second is Velvia 100 on the P-67 with 75mm 4.0.

I've never been sold on Velvia 100 but this shot makes me want to try it again. I love the warmth.

I quite love it - and (even more against the grain it seems) love 100F even more. That extra stop can certainly be welcome.

I should add though, that the warmth in this case is partially due to the smokey-haze across WA state many days the past month due to the many wildfires. It's created a near magic-hour light at all hours of the day on some days. There was one early last week that I swear, with the golden/copper shadows cast everywhere, it was an hour before sunset starting at 11am all the way to the real thing. On this day it wasn't nearly that intense but definitely present to some extent.

Recent work with the Bronica ETRS. Mount Shuksan from Mount Baker at Artist Point in Washington, then the Mission San Diego de Alcala and a flower in its garden. All on Portra, whose color characteristics I still love.

The macro lens is why I still have this camera. I think.

@LessDMess, Swift1: Thank you!

In Vietnam, it's not often clear blue sky.

Take advantage of it as clear blue skies are boring compared to that!

Yeap, clouds make a better shoot.

@swift1: i feel 120 film color always more clear, more details near to digital. Right?

I think the biggest difference is that when viewing a 120 medium format image, you are generally viewing a less magnified image.
If I take a 2400 dpi scan of a 6x4.5 negative and resize it to 800 pixels high, that is 21% the size of the original scan. Then, if I resize a 2400 dpi scan of a 35mm negative down to 21% of original, it's much smaller.

When viewed together, the apparent detail is similar.

6x4.5 Scan

Here's a couple I just finished scanning, taken this weekend while on a camping/hiking trip in the Glenwood Canyon area of Colorado.

Both shot on Velvia 50 slide film and developed with the Arista Rapid E-6 kit.

Shot with a Zone VI 4x5 camera and Fujinon W 125mm F5.6 lens.

White River Wilderness - Velvia 50 - 4x5

Spouting Rock - Velvia 50 - 4x4

My lady and I are going to take a quick roadtrip (just in time for the weather to completely turn in the next few days here in the Northwest, but oh well) and I'll be taking along the new (to me) Franka folder I picked up. Just got the test roll of Ektar back this evening and I'm definitely pleasantly surprised and pleased. I figured I'd like the results based on some of what i'd seen on the web, but I think this was better than I'd hope they'd be. That Radionar 80mm 2.9 is a lovely lil renderer. (The second shot links to a full-size flickr posting. the others are 1024 resizes)
