Frank, excellent, welcome to the thread... I'm shooting the same exact kit as you right now, but I think I have some b&w film (Tri-X?) in the camera right now.

It's the film, Superia 100 especially does strange things. You can do some photoshop work (white balance, R-G-B curves/levels) to try to get something more realistic. I don't know how Fuji sells the Superia.
Thanks Nesster I sent the Fujifilm to a Kodak Center, I'm afraid they didn't do a good job on the processing. The results look like the film is expired, but actually it's not

I haven't tried b&w for a long time. Just bought a set of DIY stuff. Wanna try to develop film on my own

I got caught! This is fuji 400x, the whole roll came out a little soft and odd on the colours, nothing like I get with Provia 100F. Ah well.

LX & SMC-M 50 1.7
Oh what a great moment you captured.

Funny, in spite of how sick I was on Tuesday, I saw in the news this anti socialism health care protest a few blocks from where I live.. so I grabbed my me super with the ole Tokina 28mm lens and ilford xp-2 film and dragged myself over there and then had it processed at cvs...So here are a few of the images complete with blown highlights, dust, scratches, and dark areas...

I just cannot get excited about Ektar. That shot is looks like it was shot with dull slide film. Please don't think I am criticizing you. I just don't like Ektar 100.

I agree.. I too have a love hate relationship with it. The crazy reds as I call them. There was another thread of the ektar 100 and made a similar comment...I would have too look for it, but there was a fellow singing with a bright red ektar colored shirt that made for a good laugh....Oh and i personally never thought I would post these last two pictures. I was trying to get the thread back on track. I don't have very many pictures on my work computer, so when I get home, I will replace the last two which are too big anyway.

Some of they "look" in that last photo could be the way the film reacts with the lights in the signs. It looks like its out of the 1960 Las Vegas.

I've only shot one roll of it (Ektar), but I'm currently leaning more towards love than hate.

ME Super, FA50 1.4

(I really wish I had a telephoto on the camera for this one)

Best to all,
Kevin
