This one is kinda hard to explain. Its a double exposure. The first exposure was taken by a stranger with an unknown camera at least ten years prior to the second exposure. The second exposure of the iron beams was made on my pinhole camera. I got the film in a package deal with other photographic equipment and did not know it was already exposed. So when I built my 4 x 5 pinhole camera I loaded the film holders with this film and got a surprise when I processed it. I processed the film and made a contact print in the darkroom. I wanted to share this with friends so I scanned it and decided to do a little post processing. Noise reduction(hilarious if you think about it), exposure, contrast and curve adjustments. Then HDR software just for fun then a pinhole filter from Silver Efex pro(double hilarious). Enjoy.

I initially thought it was Ilford Delta 100 since that's what box it was in, and processed it in D-76 1:1 + 20% time. I got the time from DigitalTruth dev chart, and we regularly add 20% for a little more range. It turns out the film is Kodak TXP 320, a discontinued film. The pinhole exposure was seven minutes IIFC.

The iron is a sculpture in front of a building technology school at the Univ of West Florida, and incorporates a bunch of different fastening systems and fixtures associated with structural steel. Art that teaches.

Very intriguing image which I like a great deal. It is one of those where one keeps seeing something else.

I looked at this photo a number of times recently and *just* now noticed the completely creepy face in the upper right window! Everything changed. :-O

Shot a roll of (very expired) Kodak VPS 160 that was tucked away in the camera bag from a purchase a couple months ago (I mixed it up with another purchase) that was leftover in a bulk-loader I bought used a couple months ago. Gave nice, more timeless feel to the holiday photos. Definitely an older emulsion, grainy for 160 in my opinion, but the sharpness and color palate are really enjoyable to me.

Pentax MZ-S | FA31/1.8 | VPS 160 | Pakon F135 scan

Did you shoot it at 160?

I did, yes. And I misspoke before - it was actually leftoever bulk film (around 4 or 5 rolls worth) in a loader I picked up not to long back. I asked him and he said it was at *least* 10 years old... not a fair test of it by any means. Some frames have obvious age fogging and there are some light contamination marks on a few edges - many other are perfectly fine for the most part. Maybe he had it in and out of the loader a couple times? Don't know. Anyhow - good looking stuff for several free 36exp rolls.
