Thanks. I'm quite pleased with how they turned out, particularly given I had no idea the condition of the film.

That Helios bokay is quite distinctive in the first shot. Good effect.

First roll shot with my pocket-rangefinder attached to the Nettar. Contrast is a bit poor in it, but it appears to be mostly accurate. Now I just need to get my framing down with this thing.

Zeiss Ikon Nettar.
Novar-Anastigmat 75mm f6.3.
Fujicolor Pro 160NS.

Which rangefinder is it (and which Nettar coincidentally)? I've a tiny little Saymon-Brown that came with my war-time Nettar 515/2 (even has a small little side pouch sewn to the leather of the main camera case) that is surprisingly accurate. And did I mention tiny?!

Prazisa. (The same model as this one, to be precise.) It's likewise tiny, particularly when attached. Other than the contrast, which isn't that big of a deal on bright days, my main complaint about it is that the distance markings on the rangefinder don't match the ones on the lens so I still have to guess a bit.

And the Nettar itself is a 517/16 — one of the later production ones from that model based on the shape of the top housing.

Very cool!
Sadly, I just broke out mine and discovered it didn't do well over the past 6-8months - we had a nasty moisture problem in our rental house that involved a bunch of headache including roofwork amoung much else. Over the winter, keeping the humidity below 60% was a constant battle - was much higher alot of the time. The Nettar had shutter issues as it were - sticking a lot at anything below 1/25sec... Now it seems it does so at higher speeds and binds up. Plus.... fungus on two sides of the elements. Must've been present when I got and taken hold in the damp. Looks like it's going to need a lot of TLC... Or just be a decorative piece - which it's been doing already cuz it's so damn nice to look at. Oh well.... got it for a song.

An acquaintance of mine considers Nettars to be one of the great bargains of medium format folders: a good quality bellows, and frequently available for cheap.

I'd agree wholeheartedly, though I've found I really like my two Frankas a bit more though. Slightly lighter and a bit more utilitarian, and I genuinely like the rendering of their lenses more, particularly the Radionar. Plus they seem to come even cheaper. I've had 4, but just two now:

a Rolfix II with Rodenstock Trinar 105/3.5 that is pretty nice (though I don't like it as much as many others seem to),
and a Solida III with Schneider-Krueznach Radionar 80/2.9 - i'm in absolute love with that thing.

A couple years ago I bought a Zeiss Nettax 513/16 (Nettar with built in light meter) with a 75/4.5 Novar. The camera was very well built, and the lens was surprisingly good. I took one of my favorite photos with it.

That's all kinds of fun. Take me to the next Latin Soul y Cantina bar.
