Had to remove a lot of yellow in post here. Not sure if it was the film or my inexperience at C-41 development.
Perhaps it's the expired film that turned to yellow.

I was going to mention this with regard to the photo you posted the other day of the redhead with a K1000 - focus plane seems oddly arranged across the frame...
Yes it's weird, I missed many pics as I like to shoot wide open, for instance this one:

I was focusing on the profile of the hat...while this one;

Looks sharp even if the DOF at f1.8 for this lens very thin, thinner than some f1.4 I have.

It's strange because in the previous roll I didn't have any missfocus:

The only change in the camera was the focusing screen, I found on ebay a diagonal split image like the Ricoh one, supposedly for Exakta RTL1000, that is also supposed to be equivalent to the VLC3, can this be the problem?

Lack of film tension on pressure plate?

The camera is always the same...besides the screen. Also, if there's a lack of tension I should see softness even on pictures shot with deeper DOF..shouldn't i?

It would be a good thing to consider. You can check the calibration with a length of semi-transparent tape stretched across the film gate -or- use a junk focus screen if you have one sitting around.

Yeah, Steve's probably got it. Looking back over your posts, it looks like it's focusing on the same point, and that is not where your viewfinder is telling you is focused. Earlier comment without benefit of computer monitor.

For tension, I had a fabric hair under one end of the plate/over film transport sprockets on an auto body. It periodically caused lack of focus as the hair moved during transport.

Could just be the time of day, but I think I'm liking the Tele Elmarit shot a bit better.

And a trio from me:

Meopta Flexaret Va.
Belar 80mm f3.5.
Kodak Ektar 100.

That is amazing! Do you remember how you metered this shot? (the last shot, if it doesn't come up in the quote)

Bracketing, mainly. I use my phone as my meter, so I pointed it at the sun to get a base reading and then took 4 shots at increasingly slower shutter speeds. This was shot 3.

(I can't recall if I stopped down further than the initial reading or not though. It seems possible.)

I take the same type of exhaustive notes.

I normally take good enough notes, if a little illegible. The exception is when I take a series of shots at different settings in fairly quick succession, similar to here.

Ahh... yes, I was mistaken - your notes are FAR superior. Mine look just like yours there for 1, perhaps 2 days... then a couple weeks of silence, followed by another 1 or 2 days.... rinse repeat.
