Fantastic shot and very interesting subject.

Is that the M28/f2?

Yes, smc M 28mm f/2.0...my walk around/travel lens. I highly recommend this lens for travel and going to Peru. This lake is 100 miles long and at 12,507 feet high! While you are there you must see Machu Picchu!

I can't remember if I posted this one already.... I've been away for a few weeks - wish they'd been spent here. A favorite spot of mine on the WA coast.

Typical "Takumar" sharpness. So sharp it looks like medium format, doesn't it?

Probably the sharpest 28mm I've ever used was an SMC Pentax "M" 28mm f/2.8. And they sell for dirt cheap on eBay these days.

But the M28 isn't a Takumar?

I've recently picked up both the f2 and f2.8 (you're right, the latter was ridiculously cheap), so it'll be interesting to compare them. Fair to say they have wildly differing reputations...

There was a local Hawaiian event at the wharf this past weekend so I put a roll of Kodak Portra 400 in the LX + Vivtar Series 1 70-200 lens.

Outrigger race

Santa Cruz Boardwalk

Lighthouse, surfers and sailboat

Would've posted sooner except my local film lab had too many rolls to process . . .

Just for fun... I know the framing and focus isn't quite the same (the second shot is focussed on the windscreen rather than the grill), and I thought there was Portra in the MX, but anyway...

'Value' is a funny proposition when one of these kits cost 13.5x more...

Just a couple of light-tight boxes. Value is in the eye of the beholder. Cool shots. I'd take either.
