A woman says a prayer at Wong Tai Sin Temple, Hong Kong. This was my first time using Ektar - the grain is very fine.

(Pentax MZ-7, FA 50mm f/1.4, Kodak Ektar 100)

Took these some time ago. All with a ZX-L loaded with Velvia 100F and scanned on a Coolscan V ED. The B&W image is also Velvia, but it looked horrible in color due to the blown highlights.

Aerial photography:

ME Super, Fuji 400 Superia, old Sigma 35-70 zoom. It's amazing - even back then, Sigma were making crap lenses.

Same combo as above. Funny how you can still see the CA at this resolution. Vignetting not applied in post.

Nice set - Just this morning I was thinking of the ZX-L metering - admittedly I've only shot two rolls so far, of color print film, and used flash, whether the built in or an AF280T - and how I haven't really been blown away with the quality. Your shots do look to be spot on (save the blown highlight one ) so I suppose I need to keep on going...

Thanks Javier - no, no tripod, I held the camera against a stone. My Bessa was on the tripod at the time. This was the last frame on the color film - here are two alternate takes of the same scene, using proper B&W film.

Tri-X, Bessa I Vaskar 6x9 folding camera. Develped in D76

Thanks! When I shot Velvia with my ZX-L I almost always got some blown highlights, but that's really tough film to expose correctly. It's a nice little camera. Very compact and light, without feeling cheap(except that battery door). But I didn't have it long enough to really test the meter.

Nesster, really like the shot in color and the Tri-X B&W. (Tasty).

Shot my first roll of Portra 400NC and I'm liking it alot:

ZX-5n, FA50, Portra 400NC

Supposed to be for portraits...

And one more...

Funny, but I found it really hard to shoot people. Most of my preferred stuff is landscape and I really had to work hard initially at taking these photos; should have been easy as they are all family and friends. Warmed up a little later with my ME Super and some Fuji Reala 100, but that's another post.

Best to all,
Kevin
