Lovely shot. Was that a crop, or did you push the film? The grain works very well, but it seems more apparent than I normally see from TMY at this size from medium format.

I'd commented on that one already, but yet again, Fabulous skin and Tone on that portrait.

Thank you. Greater DOF would deliver both eyes in focus, but would also give me more detail in the background... Anyway, no crop. But this tmax was on the camera half exposed when I bought it, so no idea if it was out of date. To compensate eventual exposure error due to that, I developed it in Rodinal 1:50, which usually increases grain.

Yeah, Tmax in Rodinal is going to be grainy to say the least.

400TX @ EI1600 in Rodinal. Doesn't look too bad. No worse grain-wise than many other developers for a 2 stop push.

Oh, I didn't say it would look bad! Only grainy. And that's pretty grainy for a websized scan of 6x6 shot.

Who knows what that film had been through, then or from what era it came. It may be something that can't be duplicated. Tuco's shot is more like what I am used to seeing from that film and developer in web-sized medium format.

When I look at the negative with a loupe and a light table, it pretty much looks like any other 400 BW film of mine that's been pushed.

That's 400TX though and not Tmax.

Normally TX in Rodinal would be even grainier, though.

Right, I was just showing if 400TX looks that grainy, TMY should be better!

Some photos from a concert I went to on Friday. Without a doubt the best show I've ever been to. It was in a little old barn, and got to see one of my favorite bands from about 5 feet away.

All were taken with an LX, 31mm Ltd., on Fuji Pro 800z. Processed and scanned at Walgreens.

Very nice results from that film. Especially since low light color shooting is a kind of photography that I tend to think digital owns.
