XP2 can easily be shot at 100 without adjustments to processing. The negatives are more dense and the grain is finer than at 400. I've rarely done it, but it has worked fine when I have.

Many people, myself included, shoot XP2 at 200 most of the time.

Ilford's website recommends a range of 50-800 for XP2.

@Jason, really like what you do with Ektar and also your latest efforts with the 135mm lens. I may have to rethink my use of it - I have a Hoya 135 f2.8 that I love to use on digital and have been using it for shooting theatre events at school. I haven't shot it much out in the big bad world because of the narrow(er) FOV, but that looks like it might be one of its advantages, showing a smaller slice of the larger view. Hmmm.

Thanks for the comments on the Ektar shots guys, appreciated.
I think I am getting the hang of shooting this film a little bit, and I'm happy with the colours and sharpness I have been getting lately.

Octav - The ektar doesn't look too overexposed online, but I was purposely overexposing it just a bit in camera to see how it effected the colours, and to make the shots a little lighter. I also saw Javier do this recently.
BTW, cool name! (I have an interest in ancient Roman history)

Too long since I posted here. Currently trying out the Fuji Neopan 400 CN (C-41 black and white) since I've heard good things about it, and it may be an alternative to the XP2.

Until some years ago (before the kids came basically) I did all BW processing myself, but now it is mainly a few tri-x. The whole point of using the BW C-41 films is basically that I can have them developed in the local camera shop and get a first scan for a fair price and pretty fast. I just have to admit it that life is too busy for me to do all the wet work myself as I used to.

I didn't like the Kodak C-41 BW film. I do like the Ilford XP2 (actually have 100 feet in the freezer right now). Then I heard good things about the Fuji Neopan, and since I used to shoot lots of Fuji Neopan in the past I wanted to try it. I couldn't get it in Sweden for some reason, but ordered 10 rolls from Germany. So far it looks very promissing. Somewhat finer grain than the XP2 and a different grey scale.
