Thanks very much, fearview. Oddly enough, the warm tone is a relatively new thing for me. I guess you could say it is subject-driven in that it seemed natural to use warm tones for certain things I've photographed since moving to British Columbia 3 years ago. Prior to that my work was always straight black and white or selenium toned. Here's a shot done with Pentax gear, titled Gabriola Shoreline Number 12.

Well I have been thinking about buying a used 4x4 to have better access to many hiking trail in the back country of BC.
But then again, I have had second thoughts

Thanks Luc. There were stage lights flashing everywhere, so metering was at best an educated guess! f/1.4 - f/2 with shutter speed of 1/60 or sometimes 1/125.
I didn't do the development, but I'm happy with how clean they are.

John Poirier - that's a nice shot and almost abstract for me

Normally I don't shoot my kids w/ film, especially w/ the Reala. The skin tone look abit to red or pinkish to me. But I had a few shots left after the flower shootout, the kids were pretty fun subjects when playing in the pool, couldn't resist but snapped these (also done by Super Program + DFA100WR macro on fujifilm Reala 100):

And I really love the last one, taken when my son was feeding the fish w/ bread, that split of freezing moment really made the shot:

Luc, it is amazing the places these hulks can end up.

Here's how screwy my mind is: when you write 4x4 I'm thinking 127 film and a baby TLR. I just bought one because I had a roll of film. And it is small and cute and just right for the back country...

Frank, excellent photos, I love your kids! I see the red cast as well, though I like it - it probably is possible to minimize the cast in pp.

Thanks frank! Simply awesome colours in your photos BTW, and good photos all round. I'm still a bit amazed that film can look this good in colour. I wouldn't have believed it a year ago.

I'm toying with the idea of getting a nice TLR for medium format at some stage, but I have no idea where to start. However a P645 is also tempting.

Back to Ektar for another shot, this one being a nice Mustang I spotted in the city here recently. Spoke to the lady owner briefly and ended up emailing the shots to her:

. somehow .. made me remember about a book i read few years back about mount Krakatoa explosion. your photo mimic one of the illustration ..

and 28/3.5 is great lens isnt it?

Do you expose the film at it's rated ISO?

So far, I experienced such ugly color shifts with cheap Kodak and Fuji. Skin is turning dark red or yellow in the underexposed areas, and both have the tendency to cast an overall green tint.
Even Ektar is turning blue-ish. But at least the grain is fine.

To be honest, I have started to over expose the 100-200 speed films by about 1/2 stop or so and underexpose the 400 speed films about the same. I think it has more to do with Target Processing, but it seems to work for me.
