Javier, I really like the shots your daughter took - either you are teaching her well or she has some natural talent...
Well probably both!

Thanks Guys. I unfortunately can't take any credit for it. She does it all on her own. What she likes to do is draw with a pencil and paper what she shoots. Pretty cool stuff. I will see I can shoot some of her drawings next to the photos she draws.

@jgredline - Nice school shots from your daughter. I would have been happy to publish them years ago when I was a yearbook editor working in black & white and using film. I used a K1000 and a Spotmatic SP (and provided free film and developing to anybody willing to shoot for me) while other students used whatever they owned or could borrow.

I've recently been doing a lot of film work and enjoying it like crazy. Especially the Medium Format stuff! It's sick!

Taken with a Pentax P3, SMC-A 28mm F2.8, Fuji Superia 400 (I think). Scanned and tweaked in the digital realm.

Definitely using Kodak BW400CN. What a beautiful, easy-to-use film!! I think this was my P3 + SMC-A 50mm F1.7

Lovin' film!

A couple from a recent trip to Hungary (Budapest). First two taken with a Pentax Program A with an SMC A 35-70 F4 lens stuck on the front.

Nothing like as good as the fantastic images in this thread but I am trying!

Taken with a FED 2 Rangefinder I'd bought that day with Fuji C200 film. Fully manual, no lightmeter and really weird focusing if you've never used one before!

They look good to me. I like the second shot best. It has nice deep blacks and is quite contrasty. The first shot is ok but the subject matter lacks contrast and looks flat. The biggest problem in B&W photography is visualising a colour scene in B&W. Some people just seem to have that gift. I don't, although I think I'm getting better at it. I once thought about buying one of those viewing scopes that renders a colour scene into something close to B&W. I'm told that a Wratten 90 filter does the same job but they seem to be hard to find these days.

Javier, Your daughter is a good photographer! Looks like she likes b&w (my daughter is like that - she'll only shoot b&w film, and usually converts her digital to b&w as well).

Makes me glad to see the young ones using manual film cameras!

Javier, I really like your daughters shots, and really dig that hippie strap she has on the K1000!! She definitely has "the eye"

All these photos are taken using my LX with a variety of manual primes, some of which I remember, some I don't! The film was Kodak BW400CN set at 320ASA.

Avenue of shadows (SMC-K 24mm, I think...)

Grant's tomb (SMC-K 15mm)

Four star eagle (No idea...)

Sarcophagi (Possibly SMC-K 15mm, 1 second exposure with camera jammed on a coat on the parapet!)

Ceiling (SMC-K 24mm)

Best wishes, Kris.

Superb series of shots Kris. There have been a few people posting C41 process stuff here recently and it has its own beautifully rich look to it. I might even buy some and try it again but I'm reluctant to let someone else develop my film these days.

+1 on that, and you just can't have too much Tri-X in D-76 as far as I'm concerned

Lovely use of that film, Kris. Great tones and good composition
