after getting a Spotmatic IIa, i've finally gotten my first roll developed.

I'm quite happy.

Findings:

Much less throwaway shots than digital.

Digital, I only keep about 1 out of 4 shots. With film, because I set up much more i'm keeping about 70-80% of the shots.

I have the 28mm, 55mm and 135mm Takumars.

The 55 is definitely my favorite, followed by 28mm for tight spaces.

I LOVE this thread; it's what inspired me to start shooting film, and it's amazing how the shooting discipline improves my photography.

Nice shots! And a nice camera. I have one with an Industar n61 53/2.8 but my shutter curtain broke. I made some shots I like a lot with it though.

Very nice shots regardless of the camera...

I have a FED-3a and I find it somewhat quirky. So you either use it regularly and know the quirks or you spend some time learning them again.
From my point of view I consider it a pocket camera. With the 35mm J12 mounted it can fit in a large pocket. The drawback is that the RF is fixed for 50mm. So to you need to use a 35mm viewfinder on top which ruins the pocketable aspect or you approximate.
That is probably why it stays at home all the time.

How are you finding the Canon P? I am so wishing that I had bit the bullet and gotten a P rather than going the FSU route. They are such beautiful cameras and have the reputation for being very robust as well. BTW, what lens was mounted to the P?

hello, new to the forum and I thought I would post a couple of my own film pics. I don't have many scanned to disk but here goes. They are shots of my mother and my nephew last Thanksgiving. The b&w is kodak bw400cn and the color pic is kodak HD400 I think. Both shot using a Minolta Hi-matic 7s. Kinda cruddy drugstore scans and don't do the photos justice. Love all the photos on this thread, I'm getting so many ideas to try out.
