I've recently started shooting film again and have been loving every second of it. Here's a sample:

As ever, my go-to combination for carefree shooting - Pentax ME + smc-A 50mm f/1.7

More on my blawg.

I developed the first roll of Fomapan 200 new emulsion in D-76 1:1... the roll started out in my Kodak Retina IIa, but unfortunately the poor camera (one of my true loves) locked part way through advancing to the third frame... I had a Yashica T4 with me so I transferred the roll into it.

The Fomapan 200 looks to be a very nice film - the Yashica has exposure limitations in the dark, but the film latitude took care of this... physically this film is excellent - smooth loading onto the reel, very little curl and bowing makes for easy scanning.

That's quite a toy, and a vario-elmar too - NICE!

Nice shot Jussi,
sorry to hear about your Retina
How did you do the film transfer to the Yashica?

I recently picked up a FA 43/1.9 to use with my MZ-L. Shot a roll of Tri-X with the combo and my sister was very kind to develop it for me. I can't really load film and develop nowadays cause of health reasons and she is a Photo major and works part time at the university photo lab.

Here's one from the roll,

Pentax MZ-L, FA 43/1.9, Tri-x in HC-110

Colton, nice shot and congrats on the 43 - that's truth be told my most used lens, both film and digital. Great piece!

I rewound the film leaving the leader out, then loaded it into the Yash (after finishing the roll that was in it), and advancing 3 frames with my hand over the lens to keep light from going in. That turned out just right - I can't even tell on the film where the switch over was. (In the past, I got to frame 3 on a Vitomatic, finished that one also in the Yash, but didn't do the blank advance thing: the result was a couple of double exposures, each from a different camera)

well, i finally got out and shot some film. I shot two rolls yesterday. i will spread them out over a few days. i did not realize how much i truly missed shooting with a good ole fashion slr and hearing that shutter go...anyway, i used my sp2 with 35mm super tak and 99 cents film. processing was done by target. i trimmed slightly and that be about it.

Griffith park observatory
these where shot wide open at f/3.5 and 1/50 hand held with 200 speed film.

thanks gene. i felt like i fell into a bit of a funk and put down the slr's for a bit. i am glad i did because i had started to loose the appreciation for film. it gets so easy to just click away on a digital.
