46 exposures! I'm guessing the film was wound up very tight in that cartridge?!

the first few frames must have been a bugger to wind

when i rolled my own i don't remember loading more than 37-38 and that was more to do with the winder being off a little when it read 36

Yeah, you can imagine my surprise when I was rolling this onto the reel - I just couldn't get any more on and there still was a long tail to go! I just wound it around the outside of the reel and went ahead. I developed this and the roll of Neopan 400 (the prior pic) at the same time, D-76 1:1 20C 9.5min.

i was going to ask what timing you used i was looking at mass dev on my phone to see what would have put tech pan and tmax in the same zone for the exposure

This is from a test roll I ran through a recently acquired Yaschica TL Electro. I haven't solved the battery issue yet, so I metered with a Gossen DigiSix.

Go to your local "Battery Bar" or Battery World" and order some Excell Photo 6v alkaline A32PX or Duracell PX32A batteries and your problem will be solved. These are an exact fit: no adaptor required!

Thanks Banjo,
My TL Electro requires 2 1.3v 640 type mercury batteries. I can get modern 1.5v alkaline px640 batteries but I have heard that the extra power can kill the meter on these cameras, plus they cost more than I paid for the camera. I also didn't want to spend money on batteries until I knew the camera worked.

Two good options:
  1. The C.R.I.S. adapter allows use of modern silver cells
  2. Jon Goodman's three-dot adapter works with hearing aid batteries...cheap, but limited life per cell

I must admit I have not really went out shooting yet but...I did fool around on my school campus for about 20 mins, I rather liked this shot for some reason. Its on Acros 100 Film.

I had to remove about 50 specs of dust and a bunch of hair thanks to me leaving it in my school and it being taken and hung on a wall for 2 days

Forgot to whip dust off so guess its my fault also...haha....

Found film, in a ME Super w/M50/17, it had been bulk loaded and marked 'TP' - the camera set to ASA25, so I assumed this was Kodak Technical Pan. It turned out to be Tmax 100. Whoever loaded the cartridge crammed something like 46 exposures - I stopped at 36...
46! however it's a cool unsettling shot!

Bought myself a new toy last week..... a Kiev 4A rangefinder with the Jupiter 53mm F/2 lens. Its a lot of hard work using it, what with metering using a handheld meter, not to mention holding and focusing the camera while trying not to block any of the rangefinder windows. I developed my first roll (Hp5+ in D-76) and discovered that the frames were not spaced correctly. Apparently this is a common problem and I might be able adjust this.

But.............. for all the problems, it takes some great images. The lens seems really sharp and despite not having used a rangefinder before, I didn't have any problems focusing it. All this for 24 UK pounds (about $38) Here are a few shots..

nice stuff #1 is my fav but they are all good

i have a couple of FEDs, FSU cams are tough to beat for the price. at least no light leaks like my fed 5
look for a jupiter 12 variant (biogon 35 knockoff) that fits its an amazing lens and worth way more than the selling price IMHO
