:cool: Lets see those ''film'' shots

Eddie, that shot was with the 150, so yeah, DOF is thin. But I am used to getting 75% keepers shooting at 100mm and f/2 on my D3. It's all the VF. I mean to get a prism finder, and would like an AE one when I do, but can't afford any at the moment. But I also like shooting with the WLF, so there's no perfect solution. I have the split-image screen. If I work on a tripod and use the diopter to focus, then back out to compose, I'm good. But I was being a bit lazy yesterday, and regretting it.

Well you are one up on me with the split prism. matte focus is a bugger to say the least. I use the diopter but i need a new insert for my prescription so i don't have to put on my reading glasses. I've never come across one bigger than +1.5, and i need +3, likely have to get it made by the optometrist. I picked up the cheaper prism to simplify life and it works well but the AE would partially eliminate the need to carry a light meter (i'm pretty good on sunny 16 outdoors so i use that as often, indoors i meter, and if i have the k7 with me i meter with it)

100 f2 on the d3 is probably even thinner than the f4. 150 (I have the older f3.5 150)

You're really on a film kick right now. Good Stuff.

I am loving the film at the moment. Just dropped off a roll of 400H Pro withe more of the blonde above. Hopefully I'll get one in focus! And I have to B/W 35mm rolls of her to develop this evening. I'm addicted.

I also have the 150/3.5, but I was bumping it up to f/4 to give me a bit of extra room LOL. Not enough. I wanted to try the film rated at 1600, but next time I will push it another stop and stop down to 5.6.

depending on the developer delta 3200 can be pretty damn grainy at 3200, never done it in rodinal, i would be inclined to use microphen or something similar at 3200 and up to control the grain a little

I'm planning to do mine in DD-X, as soon as I run a few more rolls through and get to know that developer a little better. (My 3 rolls of Delta 3200 are an event where I was the main photographer.)

...or at least that is the sign on the side of this truck parked in front of Portland's infamous "Tree of Shame" house. The slogans are those of the truck's owners and are not necessarily those of the photographer!!!

I suppose I could post a self-portrait.

I should drag Javier up here for some real street shooting. I don't have the nerve. In some neighborhoods it is not unusual to have people "in costume" for their normal street wear (punk, steam-punk, fairy tale...no furries...yet...). There is also a bicycle cult...ever seen a double-decker bicycle? I will try to get some people pictures as Spring progresses and there are more street fairs and such. It is a little more acceptable to photograph the local flavor where people are more "on display".

the more street you shoot the easier it gets is my experience. i still feel uncomfortable getting some shots but it is getting easier. the one thing is the more outlandish (ie a steam punk) the more likely they are to want their picture taken, it's an extrovert thing. if they call you on it show them the pic, and if they ask you to delete it do, plenty of other opportunity will arise
