Was going through some older photos and ran across this. This is from 2008 and was the first shot on one of the first roll I ever ran through my ME (My first manual focus Pentax). I was still learning proper film loading and hadn't burned the first few frames after loading so about 1/3 of the frame was no good. This was also before I had a scanner so I had Rite-Aid give me a CD when the did the processing.
I think the film was Kodak Gold but I'm not certain.

Cool image Colton. It reminds me of yard sales, and the crop actually works quite well.

I like the Venice shots especially.
Thanks Kerry. It helps when you have such a beautiful backdrop.

The first one is on Kodak Elitechrome 200, the second on Fuji Sensia. LX with the m-zoom 80-200mm.

As you can see, we had to improvise lighting. Light on the car is headlights of a second car... Results in the first picture are ok, headlights were auciliary. In the second picture, they were the main light source, and that shows very badly.
Suggestions on a low-budget portable lighting solutions are therefore greatly appreciated.

These were done with no auxiliary lighting.
Spotmatic F, some Takumars and cheap Schlecker AS 200 film (made in Japan, seems to bee a Fuji. Daylight skin tones get purple, so nothing for portaiture. But for 2,99€ for a pack of three I won't complain...)

The story behind the red car can be read here (german text).

Just got a roll of ultramax 400 back, used it up wandering around my neighborhood.

I went after plain, straight on photos of things in my neighborhood. Not sure why, just like the symmetrical flatness of these kinds of shots.

Program Plus + Ultramax

now I've got two rolls of expired film to go through!

one of them expired in 2004, found it in a convenience store 2 weeks ago. The guy who worked there gave it to me for free when I showed him the expiration date^^

Hey, I've got a roll of expired Ultramax in my fridge. It came with a batch of b&w film I bought on ebay but as I only shoot b&w film, I've never used it. Looking at your shots, I'm going to have to give it a try

It’s crappy weather here in Lotus Land this weekend, so here’s a few from last October in Buenos Aires. Kodachrome 64 shot with a Pentax KX or K2.
Low res home scans using various s/w I’m playing around with.

Your recent xp2 stuff looks quite grainy. Are you pushing it?

Yes, but by accident. I had the film speed off and by the time I noticed it, was too late. I normally like grain, but this is brutal. The only silver lining is that two pictures from this series made on to Flickr Explore and it seems the grittiness helped.

Maybe I should try gritty. I have yet to have even one of my photos hit Explore...
