A little while ago I stumbled across a bulk roll of Kodak Panatomic-X film at a local swap meet. I had previouslly seen stevebrot and tuco talking about this film here on PF, so I recognised the name and bought it. Finally got round to rolling a cartridge, shooting it and developing it last night. My shots are nothing special, but even so the film looks really nice. Amazingly low grain and good tonality.
The box was marked to have expired in 1988! But the film seemed to develop fine with no real pushing required. However it is interesting to see that the film edge markings are very faint.

Super Program, A50 f/1.2, Pan-X
Developed in Ilford ID-11 1:1, 6 minutes @ 24degC, exposed at 32ISO (I hope)

I look forward to actually using this in daylight
You can click through the first image to see a full size 2400dpi version if you like.

Some more here: Kodak Panatomic-X - a set on Flickr

The pool ball photo is classic Panatomic-X. The fine grain is only part of the story, but rest is in the superb tonality. Smooth and crisp, both in the same package.

Here are two from a roll of B&W film I developed last weekend. I just got a Canon 9000F scanner and really love the thing so far. The film was Arista Premium 100, shot with my Pentax ME and Pentax-M 24mm/2.8 lens and developed in Xtol 1+1. Still have three more rolls to scan in, but it's goes pretty quick (~10 minutes for 2 strips of 5 negatives @ 3200 dpi).

And that is why I recently bought a stash of seven rolls on eBay. I don't know how or when I will use them, but it is nice to know they are in the freezer.

Nice! Not too sure what I will use mine on either, but it will be nice to shoot something 35mm again after a lengthy foray into 120.

Javier, thanks for the comment. I'm a bit late, but sorry to hear about your loss of the ME super. At least you didn't lose all your film at the same time.

Great! I'm with Hermawan here.
I never did hear back from the Ferrania people. Might have to try again some day.

Go to Italy and buy a couple of bricks? Alternatively, some of the cheap Chinese stuff (Lucky brand?) might do as well.
