:cool: Lets see those ''film'' shots

samtr87, thanks for taking the time to post the locales of your shots. You piqued my curiosity as I didn't recognize the geography. (Palm trees were a bit of a clue, but that could still be a lot of places).

This is a re-run from my Spotty. I've posted it in this thread before. It's a statue of Mark Twain from January of 2010. I managed to sandwich a battery into the SPII using tinfoil, but the meter is still sketchy. I ended up using a handheld Weston meter I got from my dad. I don't know...I didn't fall in love with the SPII the way I've fallen for my other Pentax cameras. I know that people who shoot Spotties regularly swear by them. I believe the the Takumars. I'm fresh from a spin with the Sightseeing screwmount (Pentax SV) and that was a real joy to shoot. Upshot is that I should prolly revisit the SPII in the near future and see what all the hoohah is about. Clearly I'm missing something...

SPII, SuperTakumar 50 f1.4, Kodak Ultramax 400 (and it was coooold outside that day)

I guess the gist of my post is that there's no reason your Spotty shouldn't take pictures as nice as your Ricoh, but getting there will be a different trip.

Provia has become my definite #1 favorite film, I just ordered 5 rolls of 100F in 120 this morning. Can't wait to load some in my 67.

I have a black SPII that I was very excited about when I first got it but I also haven't really warm to yet. OTH I really enjoy using my SP-F......

Been browsing this thread for a long time, so thought I should post one of my own.

Pentax Spotmatic II with Takumar Super-Multi-Coated 55mm f1.8. Can't recall the film, but I believe it was a cheap Fuji roll.

Might even be a 30mm, depends on which version of the ME109.

That's just the propellor shaft. The cannon barrel would protrude through that a few inches to the end of the spinner when fitted. As you say, it would usually be 20mm but they did try 30mm towards the end of the war.

Some great looking shots up there, J8's spotty shows what happens in capable hands.
Like Vendees ME(109),not "super" after all.What ever that canon is,its straight thru the crank,
great lookin shot,dont see the 'harvards' here much.Were displaced pretty much
by ryan AT-6's.Many of those still flying.

Walgreens had 4 roll packs(24 exp) of kodak gold 200 @ $12.99 this past weekend.
Itemized B.O.M. for this series.Shooting film doesnt have to be expensive.

Pentax ZX-L from craigslist @ $45
Tamron 52B(90mm F/2.5 macro) from Ebay @ $105
Tamron adaptall to PK adapter from KEH @ $25
Pentax AF200s flash from flea market @ $4
Film,processing,and scan from walgreens @ app. $15
$194 overall.

Prices like that allows my wife and I to cut 4 figure check to redcross for
people of Japan and know we're helping all over the world,in a way that
cant be done buying new.
