Taken form the top of a mountain about 30 miles from the storm. Pentax LX, FA 31mm Ltd., Fuji Velvia 100F, about a 20 minute exposure.

Thx Bill. People sometimes say it is too dark in the foreground, but I think it gives a nice atmosphere. What do you mean by "+400"? Could be that I exposed it at Iso800, but I am not sure anymore...

Folks talk too much at times Sinister, great composition, use of light and contrast.
If I can imagine myself stepping outdoors into scene, believe your image is what
I would see. +400 is my way of saying I like Tmax...and your pic

Some good looking work from Votesh and Mehanikaloptikal also.
Kinda owe someone a pic, just dont have time. Great looking stuff here eases the pain.

mehanikaloptikal - the live shots are really cool, the black and white works nicely with all that's going on with the smoke and the musicians.

Nesster - always a pleasure seeing some classic American automobiles!

Votesh - fantastic! I assume that is a meteor shower with lightning reflecting in the water? I thought star trails at first, but 20 minutes doesn't seem long enough for that much effect.

Sinister - I don't know why anybody would criticize that photo, the darkness in the foreground adds to it, in my eyes. It draws your eyes to the lit up area/focal point. lovely photo.

I have a roll to pick up today with some shots from my newly acquired Vivitar/Kiron 75-205mm zoom and Focal 135mm 2.8. hopefully I can remember which shots are with which lens, haha. will post once I have some scanned.

also, for future reference, is it OK to post non-Pentax film photos in here?

No, they're star trails. They probably look longer than the actually are because it's a heavy crop. The original picture was in portrait orientation, but I cropped horizontally from the middle of the image.
