I particularly like the first two. I didn't know that the 50-135 was FF compatible.

Now that you mention it. But I think it's acceptable.

From the test roll with the S1a - three frames had shutter capping, but others were fine, and no light leaks etc. Not bad for an old guy.

+1 for that.

@nesster, you seem to always be in the right place at the right time. I'm envious. (maybe I just don't get out enough. )

Pentax MZ-5n, DA(L) 35/2.4, Fuji Superia 200 iso, scanner Canon 9000F.

"Mate, do you feel it's a terrible dumb idea we've got here ?"
"Oh yeah ! i will have a good laugh if the ice brake"
"If it does, don't help me, SHOOT as much as you can !"
"don't ask me twice "

after a whole hour of playing, the ice didn't brake ... we were a bit disapointed we wanted to much the mess to happened !!!

MZ-5n, Vivitar S1 70-210 @f3,5, Fuji Superia 200, Scanner Canon 9000F

MZ-5n, FA-J 18-35 @18mm, f11 (AFAIR), Fuji Superia 200, Scanner Canon 9000F.

Well, 18mm on film is soooooo wide 90° horizontally. And the lens doesn't produce so much distortion
I found something nice in this picture, but can say what exactly

MZ-5n, Porst 55 f1,2 @f1,2, 1/30, Fuji Superia 200, Scanner Canon 9000F

maybe square size would fit better ?

@aurele, I really like that wide street shot.

I just had my first roll of Ektar 100 developed and scanned today at Wal-Mart. Not sure if it's the film, but I think my results are improving, if ever so slightly. Here's the best of them...

My ornery goat Moe at rest - K2, M135/3.5 (I think).

Utility Building at Greenwell Park, K2, K24/2.8

Azaelea with background shade, K2, M50/1.4, lots of background spot removal with PSE8. (I need a lens cleaning)

thank you

I really like the Pier picture, it looks like postcard from some island
The goat is nice too albeit a bit out of focus.

@Swift1 Nice picture. I've heard lot of bad things about FA-J series, but the 18-35 is quite good, even at full aperture. At least it seams so.

Thanks aurele.
Ya, the FA-J lenses don't get a whole lot of respect generally, which can mostly be blamed on their cheap build, plastic mount, and slow apertures. They can be decent optically though. I think the 18-35mm may be the best of the lot, especially since it's so wide on film. On digital, I found my copy of the FA-J 18-35mm to be slightly better than my copy of the DA 18-55 AL II. I used to own a Sigma 17-35 2.8-4 in Alpha mount and I think overall it is a better lens than the 18-35mm but I couldn't find a K mount version so I got the FA-J instead.

Here a few more from the same roll, both at 18mm. I did a B&W conversion on the one cause the lighting was terrible and so the colors were very drab.

Yeah, I see that now. I think his body is in focus, but his head not so much. Thanks for the feedback. I probably just flat out missed the focus - I don't recall if he was moving around or not. Typically, it's difficult to get a shot like this - usually when the goats see me coming they rush to the fence 'cause they think they are getting fed. I just happened to catch this one at a disinterested moment.

is anyone down/game for a film swap? i am currently living in south korea and i shot a roll of Kodak Colorplus 200 exposed at 400. who wants to put some "non korean" images overtop of mine and see what kind of funky results we get? I love the idea of a film swap and i would prefer to swap with somewho who is going to take very "non korean" images to contrast with mine. any takers??? send me a P.M. and maybe our photographic forces can combine to create some strange images.... can i can a "heck yes?"

Third part of a small series. Same Place, same day, same time... different film. ;-)

Today: Fuji Velvia, expired in 2007... (picture taken in autumn 2011) ;-)

Kiev 88 with Zodiak-8 fish-eye. Played a little bit with saturation and contrast. Picture as usual linked to blog entry.

Took my Pentax MZ-60 to the show just loaded with Fuji Superia 400.

First one is original, second is me fiddling with editing it a little. I've never really done photo editing before (gosh it's fun) and I like the way this one turned out because it reminds me of a cheaply printed postcard.
