I recently picked up a Contax RX and was wandering around town, just testing out a mirror repair I had to do. Lens was the Vario-Sonnar 28-85 at the wide end, f/5.6. Film was Ektar. This first shot is my local camera store, University Camera, on Dubuque St. in Iowa City. I just sat the camera on the counter for stability, because the shutter speed was a half-second or longer (aperture priority):
I'd been looking for the owner, who wasn't in. When I left the shop, I set the lens at its hyperfocal, and decided to walk around town for a few grab shots. Just a few seconds after leaving the shop, I saw the Roger (the U-cam owner) rounding the corner with his latte, and I shot this one from the hip:
I stopped him and we talked, and then I followed him back to the shop, where he gave me a few rolls of old film, and also sold me 26 rolls of Plus-X for a buck apiece. Good day for me.
