My first real camera was a K1000, stolen about six months later, most likely by my brother-in-law (long story).

So we have two Canons, a Ricoh and a Yashica, and a Pen as first 'real' cameras... anyone else? (My first full frame 35mm is an OM2s, my first autofocus a Pentax)

I love this film! I'm sad it's discontinued, I need to stock up myself before it starts getting scarce. Did you find a good deal on it?

$3 per roll delivered, and it only expired in 2010. And was cold stored, says the seller.

My first 'real' camera was an ME Super with a 50mm f/2 lens. I still have (and occasionally use) the lens, and although I still have the body, it is no longer working. I do, however, have three other functioning ME Supers

Here is my first ME Super with the original lens fitted (but not the original lens cap!) shot using my last roll of Kodachrome 64 loaded into one of my working ME Supers. The first roll of film I shot through my ME Super was Kodachrome 64...

Best wishes, K.

Here's a couple of test shots from my recently acquired SMC Pentax 6X7 90/2.8
I've had the LS version for a few years but have been curious to try this one due to lighter weight, closer focusing, 8 blades instead of 5, and supposedly sharper.

Pentax 67, SMC Pentax 6X7 90/2.8 @ f/5.6, handheld, 1/500s, Kodak Ektar

Pentax 67, SMC Pentax 6X7 90/2.8 @ f/4, Tripod+MLU, 1/1000s, Kodak Ektar

Also sort of. Excuse the digital picture but here's a photo of my K1000 given to me by my parents when I was around 12 years old (I'm 31 now). I sold it long ago because I wasn't using it and was a little tight with money, but was able to get the exact one with the same lens back a couple years after selling. I still use it when I'm not shooting with the MX or K2 DMD. My parents had used it for years before giving it to me and it still works perfectly today without ever being serviced.

Has anyone else recreated their youthful 'real' camera set ups?

Yep. My first 'real' camera was a 1977 K1000 I purchased brand new at Sears, along with a 55mm(Sears?) & 80-200mm(Sears?) zoom. Most of my shutterbugging habits can be traced back to that camera. A few years later I added a Vivitar 28-105mm zoom.

All were stolen in 1986 . The replacement K1000, A-50mm, A-70-210mm, and Vivitar Series 1 28-105mm were stolen in 1989

I had longed for another K1000 and corrected that in the Summer of 2010. I upgraded a bit by getting the SE model. I sent it straight to Eric for a CLA and seals. It's great to be shooting with my old friend again. The K2 in the snapshot (also purchased used in 2010) came with a SMC-K 55mm lens, and the insurance company bought me a new Vivitar Series I 28-105mm zoom back in 1989 (which I still shoot with today). Another camera I bought last year came bundled with a mint SMC-A 70-210mm zoom. So, I have 'sort of' recreated my original kit

I still have my first "real" camera that I bought in 1975. Here is the KX with the K28/3.5, I also bough the K55/1.8 and K135/3.5.
