It's pretty awesome to see these old slides that are so full of family history.

This is my dad fishing when he was about 10.

Normally I try to use the same lens for an entire roll. But I recently picked up a SMC 400/5.6 and mounted it to get a feel for it. Only one shot so far with that, and a few others with another lens. And I've already forgotten the lens which was previously mounted - M50/1.4, I think. I'll likely return to that lens if I ever get to got out again. The local forecast has rain for the next four days. At any rate, I'm hopeful I'll have something worth posting after I finally shoot the 36 frames, send it out for processing, and get the results. Maybe by April?

I would suggest a moodier - more contrasty or darker, version.

Here's a Kodachrome I took in '72 with an Olympus Pen FT half frame

My grandma, again the 70s, probably Agfachrome

Pop Photo's September 1957 issue had the Most Photogenic Girl In the World as picked by Ed Sullivan and shot by Peter Gowland - they included 600,000 color Super Ansochrome slides (World's Fastest Color Film - Exposure Index 100). Luckily the slide was still in the magazine, though it - and the magazine itself - hasn't been stored in the dryest most archival way.

I actually lightened up the file a bit because I thought it might appear too dark on uncalibrated monitors.

I too bought that issue and it came with the slide. Looks like my version was in very good shape compared to yours.

Unfortunately it is a copy of an original and as careful as they say they did the copying, I am afraid it lost quite a bit in the process.
I don't know how that film's color characteristics under that lighting condition but it looks like it kept it's color quite well I think.
