Using the vintage Samyang 1:4.0~4.5 18~28mm on the Pentax MX.

The lens appears to be in almost unused condition, and seems to have good color contrast - which was mentioned in the old reviews I found- and is ok for sharpness (..above f/11 !)
This photo at 18mm to frame the Midland County Courthouse and f/16 or so.
Fuji s-400, home C41 and PrimeFilmPro120 at 3200 dpi

I've often wondered how that lens performed.
Post more from it if you can.

Thanks Swift
Here is another from the
Samyang 1:4.0~4.5 18~28mm on the Pentax MX.

This time I was at about 24 mm and f/8 focussed close on the foreground flowers to see its background blur.

At large size on my monitor the photo not sharp anywhere at f/8 and I also verified that on ist-ds.
However at f/16 as in my earlier post it is sharp and I will use it like that occasionally on the 35mm cameras.

The lens was probably quite OK for normal sized prints back in the day.

A "close up pano" 1:2 crop of the 6x7 frame.
Using the Takumar 6x7 1:2.8 90mm wide open and close focus.
I have a lot to learn about photographing flowers.

Fuji Pro 160ns. Tried various Kodak and Fuji films this year and the 160ns is clearly out in front for the types of photos I have been doing.
