No pictures...... Hopefully this works!

Edit: Original post explanation.
A few from my Grandfather's and Dad's slides and negatives collection...... Scanned using a cheap 5 MP scanner so not as good as some here!!!

First one is Kodachrome that I think was an entry by my Grandad into a competition probably sometime in the 1960s. Second is my Dad in an action shot! This would have been around Edinburgh again in the 60s, not sure what film this is. I can't be at all sure of the camera used but my Grandad was a Pentax user later so it's entirely possible an earlyish Pentax may have been used (these are all 35 mm). The last is my Dad in 1973 with his brand new Pentax Spotmatic F and 50mm 1.8 and the final image is that same camera today (ok taken with a Q but to illustrate)! Both my parents passed away over the last few years (I'm only 32) and I have loads of childhood photos all taken on that camera. Maybe in 20 years time my daughter may want to play with it too...... We'll see....

I just got my first roll of 120 back from my new to me Pentax 645n. I love the camera but I can tell I have a lot to learn still. Keeping my camera level is one of them. It also looks like I need to err on the side of over exposing than under exposing (Portra 400). I really like the look of that film and have also shot a roll of it on 35mm. Here's one of the few keepers from the bunch...

Oh, and if anyone has any tips, suggestions, comments and/or critiques; I'm all ears!

Thanks!

See images in my next post! For some reason didn't upload...
Most of us don't upload attach or upload our images to Pentax Forums. It is usually easier to have them hosted at Flickr or elsewhere and link to the images. In fact, Flickr will even provide the appropriate BB code for the link.

This is a photo of my parents, that I took in December of 2007. They had just (nearly) finished building their house.
In the 7 years since, this remains one of my favorite photos that I've made.

MZ-5N and Gold 200. The first was with the M 75-50 f/4 and the second the Sigma EX DF 28-70 f/2.8. Both wide open, I think.

Very nice photograph, Colton. Great of them, and then I've seen later photos of the house, as well. I like the composition and color in this, and them of course. The wilder abstraction of the tools and things on the right with the building structure are really great together with the view. They seem to bridge and connect the two and their pleasure makes this special. I like this one, too.

Thanks, and yes, near White Rock. The house is gone now, and so are the towering Fir trees on the property, replaced by dozens of town houses.

How depressing. My husband and I were just admiring this, thinking how it spoke to a moment in time (when we were young), how wistful it made us.

The unfortunate reality of living in the lower mainland sometimes. The land is worth too much for one home and the developers come knocking!
