A brace from a test roll. Think it was Fuji Superia 200 in an old MX I bought and replaced a load of missing parts on:

Scanned, then given minimal adjustment with Picasa (I mostly just retouch any marks/hairs, then tweak the fill light and shadows until it looks right).

^^^ That's a great shot!!! I've never seen a pelican hand fed before...Nice. Gulls? Sure...grab some Mcdonalds French fries, head to the beach and you'll find yourself in an Alfred Hitchcock movie, but a pelican??? We've just got a load of 'em in on their yearly migration. They're amazing creatures...I'll never understand how they can fly so well when they're so lopsided.

Thanks Phil. It probably doesn't hurt much?

Thanks IHS.

As for the Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, you would have to go further up north to Bodega Bay.

These were taken on Konica Centuria 800.

This shot shows more of those dive bombers . . .

But I prefer this composition better but it has no birds in it . . .

Last week I went to the Antique Music Festival in Greenwich with my trusty K1000...unfortunately I had loaded it with some Portra160, not 400, big mistake because the Naval College was a pretty dark environment, however I tried to do my best:

Baroque violin, Amati or Stradivari model. I liked it because you don't see baroque violins very often, taken at f2.0 and 1/30...as usual the lab cut the scroll but I assure the Pentaxians the composition on the negative is spot on.

I do like this pic: it's a spinet and the lady is the maker of the instrument. Still, taken at f2.0 and 1/30.

Recorders and flutes are difficult to shoot for me because they're long and narrow, in this case there are two Bressan trebles and in the foreground two descants, one is a terton, the other I don't know...still according to the lightmeter this pic was also underexposed.

Here I was trying to take a pic of the fair AND the beautiful room of the College...I must return there with a wider lens and faster film.

I took inspiration from this shot from the various still lifes of the Renaissance and Baroque era, like this one:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bartolomeo_Bettera_-_Still_Life_with_...struments_.jpg

Unfortunately when I had to shot the maker decided to move his arm into my viewfinder...I should crop the image but I haven't...I'm sorry I had to cut the candelabrum but I coulndn't make it fit in the composition.

Main square of the Naval College: outside the murky weather ruined my pics, and I wish I had a 40 mm for this shot.

I could take some shots inside the riverbed...this one could be entitled "Desolation".

Another senior portrait shoot. I wasn't too happy with this one. I couldn't stop down the lens because I needed the light, (and at below freezing, it was too cold to set up flash) so focus in most shots of the roll was off (this one was one of the best but...)
And, I've been having chemical issues, and so this shot has an odd color shift (blue in the dark areas?)

Ultimately, I reshot yesterday on digital, still not sure of my C-41 chems.

Hmm, I may agree with you. But both shots are appealing in their own right. Always like seeing what you have to share.

A quick macro - this is actually from quite a while back, soon after I got my SPF. It came with a set of original Asahi extension tubes and this is all of them stacked with an SMC Takumar 55/1.8 on the end, which, looking at the camera I photographed with it, seems to be about 1:1. As I recall, the film was Kodak ColorPlus 200. Lit entirely with early spring sunshine coming through a window.

Early Morning Color

Here are the results of a few fairly recent early morning outings. I used the KX with Ektar. I don't recall the lenses - most likely the K24/2.8 or M50/1.4.

There was a little fog on the creek during this morning shot.
