:cool: Lets see those ''film'' shots

I have lots of airshow photos, many of them slides taken back in the 80s and 90s. I posted a couple of airshow shots over in the "Show your film Pentax" thread, but I didn't want to post any more, since they would be off topic. But I thought I'd go ahead and share some more in the right thread. So anyway, back in those days I was shooting with either Canon or Nikon. I didn't start shooting with Pentax on more than an occasional manner until several years ago. And all my Pentax gear is film based, so . . .

This first one is a shot of a Blue Angels A4 Skyhawk at rest. I believe the Blue Angels transitioned to F/A-18s in 1988, so this shot was from 1987 or earlier. Sigma 600mm f/8 mirror, Canon F-1 most likely. Film is probably Kodachrome 64.

Blue Angels in A4s, formation. Probably the same airshow as above. The lens used was most likely a Tamron SP 60-300mm zoom.

Blue Angels in F/A-18s, taken probably in 1990 or 1991. Nikon F3, Tamron 300mm f/2.8 LDIF. Fujichrome 100.

Supermarine Spitfire Mark ?? Fujichrome 100. I don't recognize the nationality of the roundels. Israel maybe?

P-51D Mustang, Tamron 300mm f/2.8 LDIF, Fujichrome 100

P-40 Kittyhawk in British livery. Tamron 300mm f/2.8 LDIF, Fujichrome 100

F4U Corsair and Hawker Sea Fury with Australian Navy markings, Tamron 300mm f/2.8 LDIF, Fujichrome 100

P-51 Mustang, Spitfire, and Messerschmidt BF-109 in formation. Tamron 300mm f/2.8 LDIF, Fujichrome 100

Hawker Sea Fury, circa 1984. Kodachrome 64

Airshow officials with a beautiful Sea Fury in the background. Sigma 600mm f/8 mirror lens. Kodachrome 64

Probably a South East Asia Command (SEAC) roundel. Red removed to avoid confusion with japanese signs. Israel's roundel has a blue David's star on white.

Nice pictures. I like the Douglas A4. A very elegant design.

I think he says which Mark the Spit is...it looks like a later Griffon model, Mark XIV/XVIII, or a post war Mark22.

The Bf109 is not really a German plane but the Spanish version, probably with Merlin engine...see the different cowling.

Other shots of Farnborough, even if they are not as nice as Cooltouch's.

Regarding Bf109, do you mean it's HA-1112?

Yes, they were all taken with my LX besides the last one, I used a Praktica BC3 with a 18mm wide angle.

The film was Portra160, no PP.

This is some Lomo style film from Germany called Kono Kolorit 125T. (Old Eastman 35mm Tungsten movie stock film hand spooled)

Looks a bit like autochrome.

I dunno -- you got some good shots there. I don't get to see the European jets over here -- except the trainers used in formation flying by Breitling and the like.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that the Messerschmidt was a Spanish model -- but those are the only ones we have flying here in the States, I think. Even then, I think there are only one or two.

Thanks for the additional info on the Spitfire. I knew it was a late model from the bubble canopy and five-bladed prop.
