My dad was in the US Army during the Korean conflict, and was over there pretty much for the duration. He had a Kodak Pony with him -- a cheap, range-focus 35mm -- and he shot B&W and slides with it. Considering how long he was over there, he didn't take a lot of pics, but what he did take, I've duplicated and digitized using my duplicating rig and a DSLR. The slides are Kodachromes and look as fresh today as they were back in the early 1950s. The B&W images -- well the early ones were sloppily processed and not stored well. They've got splotches and tons of scratches. The later ones were processed and stored better.

My dad was assigned to the 23rd Quartermasters Group. He was a supply sergeant, iow, an remf. But they did see action on occasion. On one instance, their position was overrun one night and a grenade was tossed into the bunker my dad was in. He survived pretty much unscathed, but his CO was killed.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I suppose the "before 1990" thread would be more appropriate, but it slipped my mind when I was posting the message. I have quite a few more than those I displayed. You saw most of the good Kodachrome shots, but I have quite a few B&W ones I can also share. It's gonna take me a bit to round them up, though. They're scattered across the drives of three different machines, I'm thinking.
