They do actually look like colour originals rather than colourised. It's amazing how having realistic colour makes them seem more contemporary.

I somewhat suspect that this film is just Japanese-branded regular Superia 800, but haven't shot enough of the latter to say. Regardless, I appear to have misexposed most of the roll and most shots are blown out badly.

This one wasn't too off, but it's still been dropped a full stop in LR and then had the highlights pulled.

Spotmatic II.
Tamron Adaptall-2 80-210mm f3.8-4.
Fuji Superia Venus 800.

I haven't given the 645n any love lately (150-300mm, Fuji Pro400H, Unicolor presskit, X1 scans):

I just scanned my first ever roll of Superia 400 and it came out OK. I'm particularly happy with this night shot from back at christmas. SFXn, not sure what lens.

Yeah, doesn't say what film(s) were used (I'm assuming several different, but could be wrong). Apparently Kodachrome dates from 1935, and Agfa brought out a more technically advanced color film in 1936.

Many have a distinct Koda look to them. Was just talking about old koda slides with my dad last night. It's been a joy to rescan a great number of my grandfather's old shots from the late 40s through the late 60s (and a few 70s). They are head-and-shoulders better looking, better preserved than anything else shot during that time - most of the rest was Ektachrome of various variety. All the print film shot for the most part was tossed, and the prints were kept only in many cases which is a tragedy since many of the prints are greatly suffering nowadays. Just happy Koda was his favorite - there are literally boxes upon boxes and most look as if they were shot yesterday (as these WWII photos) and scanned right in. In fact many look better than contemporary scans.

A couple examples:

I think Superia 400 must be quite robust - a few days ago I stupidly developed a roll and got the times for colour developer and blix the wrong way round! So after six and a half minutes in the CD I realised what I'd done and fortunately finished the job rather than trashing it. Apart from a mild magenta tint and highlights too light, it didn't look too bad!

I'd say the pictures were probably shot on Kodachrome. I've scanned a good deal of pre-war and late 1940s Kodachrome, and these have a similar "feel". Agfacolor is unlikely, as it was a German product.

Many thanks Colton.

The Superia seems to have dried very flat so I'm getting sharp scans from it, though I have my usual battle with getting the colour right. Supplies are limited as Fuji stopped making Superia 400 in rolls of 36 and 24s are less economical as development costs the same. I think I'll need to try to buy a couple of packs and freeze them, though I don't use colour 400 that often.

Here are a few others from my christmas day walk-about in the same village where that was taken.
