How many scans so far?

Also, which of the three methids - Coolscan, Flextight and DSLR, provides the least work to get color/contrast right?

The car looks way too good to be parked dangerously close to a rusty shipping container in the weeds.

Pond in the Swedish woods

Images from my second film of Film Ferrania P30. I like the fine grain, tones and contrast of this new (old) film. Some sharpness lost due to diffraction (I hadn't noticed that I had stopped all the way down to F16).

As I was scrolling down the page, I looked at the photos without reading the text and thought "That looks like Russia!" Then I read the text

How do you find the dynamic range of this film? I am very interested in trying it out, but the samples I have seen on their website often times have hightlights blown out. For my liking, at least. Not sure if it was processing (they seem to be in the process of figuring out how best to process it) or something else...

Film Ferrania P30

I find it to be quite good. The film yields high contrast, but the (mid)tones are still there.

Here a backlit dark brown dog, but all the tones are there all the way into the darkest shadows:

I like the fine grain and high detail that is possible with this film, even with my low cost flatbed scanner like mine (Canon CanoScan 9000f):

It is certainly a film that I will return to again and a welcome addition to the choices we have already.

BTW, Film Ferrania recommends Kodak D-76 or the variant D-96 and almost discourages the use of xtol, but I still used (more than a year old) xtol 1+1, as that was what I had at hand, and that functioned well for me (xtol 1+1 for 10 minutes @ 22 °C (= 12 minutes @ 20 °C)).

This is really awesome. Never occurred to me to convert Velvia to black and white, but I think I am going to try...
