1990 - Kodachrome 64 ,K1000, 50mm f1.7 ,soligor Flash, white reflector card, tripod,

A little job I did for a Slide Presentation once again using Kodachrome 64. A "mature Model"s portfolio and entries to Modeling contests in Toronto 1990. I would like to tell you that it was hard work but.........The only thing hard was taking the lens cap off. How could you go wrong with a lovely model like her? No special lighting equipment; we were trespassing sort of in a Condo Building and had to speed things up. Used a cheap slide copier to transfer to Digital just for memories.

Farmers market

My kid has a Saturday class near the local farmers market. It gives me almost 2 hours to kill to take photos. Both of these are with a Pentax K2, SMC Pentax-M 50mm F1.4, Kodak UltraMax 400.

Produce markets often make for some great pics, I've found. Yours are illustrative of that fact.

I have a few questions for everybody who contributes their C41 images here.

Do you have a favorite lab that you use on a more or less routine basis? What is the service(s) you go for besides just having the negatives developed?

Or do you develop your own C41? And if the latter, are you satisfied with your results?

Lastly, do you scan your own images for posting here, or are they from a CD that your lab has provided?

I have used Dwayne's on an irregular basis. They consistently do good work. But with shipping things are kinda pricey unless I send them a big batch of film to be developed. So for this reason I've started developing my own C41 using a small Unicolor kit. So far, results have been just OK, but I think that's due to some very expired film I was using -- perhaps by a large amount.

I have two "local" (I commute ~70 miles, so one close to home, one close to work) camera shops I frequent. One just does C41 development, the other does B&W and E-6.

For 35mm: At first I did lab scans, but now I use a Pacific Imaging PrimeFilm XA scanner, which has better color, detail, and resolution than the lab's NORITSU KOKI.
For medium format, I'm currently making due with lab scans. Medium format (non-flatbed) scanners seem to come in two product ranges: Mediocre, and Professional.
