I use the same Lab that is close to me in Vancouver for everything, called "The Lab":

- C41 135/120: dev & med resolution scans
- E6 135: processing & mounting. I do my own scans only if I post an image online.
- E6 120: dev & med resolution scans.
- b&w 135/120 negative: dev & med resolution scans.
- b&w 135 slide film: Send to DR5 Chrome for processing & mounting. I do my own scans only if I post an image online.

My scanner can only do 135 film.

I have a few questions for everybody who contributes their C41 images here.

Do you have a favorite lab that you use on a more or less routine basis? What is the service(s) you go for besides just having the negatives developed?

Or do you develop your own C41? And if the latter, are you satisfied with your results?

Lastly, do you scan your own images for posting here, or are they from a CD that your lab has provided?

I have used Dwayne's on an irregular basis. They consistently do good work. But with shipping things are kinda pricey unless I send them a big batch of film to be developed. So for this reason I've started developing my own C41 using a small Unicolor kit. So far, results have been just OK, but I think that's due to some very expired film I was using -- perhaps by a large amount.
I use Citizens Photo in Portland, Oregon. They're a short detour on my way home from work, so super convenient. They do good work for C41 for good prices. US$3.75 for processing + US$7.50 for high-res scans. They have an upload/download service for no additional charge.

Their BW developing has been inconsistent. I think it's a function of their workload. When they get busy (which is good, right?) they're not so careful cleaning the negatives for scanning and the scanning software doesn't remove the dust particles. I've dropped off both C41 and BW during busy times and I've never noticed quality control issues with the C41 scans. Now that I have access to a community darkroom, I'll probably do my own BW processing.

I have another shop locally, Blue Moon. But they're not as conveniently located and their prices are higher, so double whammy. If they had only one downside I'd use them.

Does this place do E-6 (slide) processing, and the other doesn't? There's a reason

They both do E6. I dont' shoot slide film so can't comment on quality of either.

As long as we're tallying points, more points in favor of Citizens: it's shares the building with a Lego store and a liquor store, and is across the street from a bathhouse (not my thing but putting it in the plus column anyway).

In Blue Moon's favor is they're open on weekends while Citizens is not. Plus the shop is an analog dream.

Some pics from three of my favorite Tamron lenses. The three favorites are the 01BB 24mm f/2.5, the 30A SP 80-200mm f/2.8 LD, and the 60B SP 300mm f/2.8 LDIF.

Following are eight photos. The film was Kodak 200. I scanned the negatives at 3200 ppi using my Epson 4990.

A few years back we had to have a couple of trees removed from our back yard. It had been a very hot summer and those old pine trees just couldn't handle it. We hired a tree removal service for the job. And I decided to shoot some pictures of them in action.

I decided to use my Canon EF for the task. I don't recall the specific lens used on some of these shots, so I'll be guessing. The following were either the 80-200 or the 300/2.8. Most likely the 300/2.8. All shots were hand-held.

This little guy (he stood about five feet tall) climbed these trees like he was part monkey.

This was taken with the 24mm:

And I know for sure these two were taken with the 80-200. I'm amazed these guys weren't using protective eyewear:
