The new Kodak E6 should be soon, but probably next spring. I'm currently out of 135 E6, so am also waiting for the new Kodak release. Not likely to be cheap, but what ever it costs I'll be using it. I just can't get into colour negative film for my travels.
Phil.
I've used Fujichrome for many years and I actually like it. It's more color neutral that Ektachrome was. Ektachrome tended to rather wildly accent blues; fujichrome is more neutral in that regard. Of course, I'm basing all this on the f'chrome I was shooting back in the 80s and 90s. I have some Provia and Velvia in 120 that I'm slowly making my way through. I'd have to say offhand though that the Provia is much like the old f'chrome was. And I like Velvia. I don't see (or don't care either way) the wild color saturations that some people talk about with it. To me it just looks good. I'm basing this on some 135 Velvia I shot a while back. I haven't used any of the 120 stuff I have yet.
The first part of this year, Kodak was forecasting 4th Qtr 2017 for release of the new Ektachrome. So I guess they'll be missing this date. No Ektachrome in the stockings then this year, I suppose. Yeah, prolly won't be cheap, but I hope it'll at least be cheaper than Velvia. Maybe around where they're pricing Portra, I'd be okay with.
