Arms crossed, that kid has assumed an aggressive posture. Looks like he's about to cut and run any second.

Great shot!

Great shots Phil. Elitechrome was great stuff. Hey, I'm thinking this is probably what Kodak will be bringing back to the market soon . . . weren't they forecasting November? So where is it?

Can't wait to get some more of that film.
Thanks! I used Elitechrome for a few years after switching from Kodachrome and did like it. (Before I went to Ektachrome 100G). Yes I prefer Kodak E6 to Fuji any day, though the Provia 100F I've been using recently is probably their best E6 and closer to a Kodak.

The new Kodak E6 should be soon, but probably next spring. I'm currently out of 135 E6, so am also waiting for the new Kodak release. Not likely to be cheap, but what ever it costs I'll be using it. I just can't get into colour negative film for my travels.

I've used Fujichrome for many years and I actually like it. It's more color neutral that Ektachrome was. Ektachrome tended to rather wildly accent blues; fujichrome is more neutral in that regard. Of course, I'm basing all this on the f'chrome I was shooting back in the 80s and 90s. I have some Provia and Velvia in 120 that I'm slowly making my way through. I'd have to say offhand though that the Provia is much like the old f'chrome was. And I like Velvia. I don't see (or don't care either way) the wild color saturations that some people talk about with it. To me it just looks good. I'm basing this on some 135 Velvia I shot a while back. I haven't used any of the 120 stuff I have yet.

The first part of this year, Kodak was forecasting 4th Qtr 2017 for release of the new Ektachrome. So I guess they'll be missing this date. No Ektachrome in the stockings then this year, I suppose. Yeah, prolly won't be cheap, but I hope it'll at least be cheaper than Velvia. Maybe around where they're pricing Portra, I'd be okay with.

Hoping to be able to add more to this thread as I picked up an Instax camera on Black Friday. I'm going to have to find a better scanning method than my iPhone but for now it's what I have.

The other option you ought to have in a similar timeframe is the side film from Ferrania, but who knows what that will look like. Judging by the price of their P30, which is around double what a 100-ish ISO B&W film should cost, the slide film will also be expensive.

Yep I'm hoping Ferrania will have a faster E6 in the 400-800 ISO range to compliment the Kodak Ektachrome 100. I also do miss the Fuji Provia 400x as a fast E6 option.

Yup, the one and only. That roll was just me experimenting with it and I didn't get a lot of good results. Now I have a vision as to how to use it.

Anywho, more:

There's a sizable French population here. Also it's trendy.

Also this was in Scarborough. Whole other universe.

A friend of mine recently bought poutine in Ganzhou and last year there was a tour d'poutine of sorts here in the Portland, Oregon at multiple local restaurants. Apparently the dish has escaped the boundaries of French Canada.

After six weeks in the car spa, we have new paint, new wheels and a new roof. Just in time to go into the garage for the winter.
