I got the actual slides back today, as well as the negatives from my test roll on my 67. Seeing how cool the slides look and the size of the 67 negative, yeah, I really want to shoot some Velvia through the 67.
I just finished my first 6x7 roll on Friday. Looking forward to getting that back. What lab do you use?

Right now I’m sending out to thedarkroom.com while I get home development sorted (will be sticking with black and white for a while at home, and sending out for color development.)

I've been sending it all out. I love the idea of home development. The time required to scan/edit is why I don't shoot digital in the first place.

I shot my first roll of slide film ever: Velvia 50 (RVP50). These were all shot on a Nikon F4 with a Nikkor 28-105 F3.4-4.5D, and metered to box speed. I must say, I really like this film. I was surprised at how sharp it is. I'm curious to get the slide back to see how they look in minature.
Amazing detail in those shots of yours. That last one looks like it was shot with a large format camera, definitely not 35mm!

I have an F4 and I have that same lens. Whew. I had no idea how sharp that lens is. I've just been using mine for piddling stuff. Guess I need to take it out and give it some proper exercise -- with some very good film, of course. I think I have one box of Velvia 50 left in my freezer.

Anyway, thanks for the inspiration. Living in Houston, however, I'm a good thousand miles away from anything that could seriously be called a mountain. Maybe I can find a picturesque bayou or something.

Not a profound shot, by any means - just some evergreens. But I'm really impressed with this garden-variety Fuji 200 film.

Sears KS-2 + Pentax 35-105 f/3.5.

Thanks. I was kind of blown away by the amount of detail in the shots too. The lens was a $75 cheapie on ebay, but it did quite well for these shots (all handheld by the way.) I'm sure there are some nice things to shoot in Houston, even if they are mountains! I'm not dying to get the velvia for my Pentax 67 to see how well it does with a 6x7 image area.

Fujicolor 200 is (IMO) probably the most underrated film currently available. I've used it quite a bit in the past mostly because it was cheap. I've been using it more lately, and it's becoming one of favorites.

How are you rating it, box speed? 100?

Box speed... for the most part... the above photo was done without metering, so I was using box speed, to the best of my ability.
Years ago, I played around with different exposure using Fujicolor 200, and I decided it works best @200, assuming it's fairly fresh.

Thanks. My eight year old daughter has her first roll of film in a KM and I've been looking for something decent, but inexpensive for her to use as she continues to learn the camera.

Probably my favorite photo I've ever taken was with Fujicolor 200 in a Pentax KM

I took two rolls of Cinestill 800T with me on a recent trip. Ignoring that I've never had colour results as good as sample images — likely a result of not doing my own scans — the results were still disappointing: one roll was almost completely ruined by static visible all across the roll, and the other had about half the frames covered in red spotting and blotches. These are two of the better frames from the second roll, but even in the first image the defect is painfully obvious:

Spotmatic II.
Super-Takumar 50mm f1.4
(Image 1) / Adaptall-2 28mm f2.5 (Image 2.)
Cinestill 800T.

CineStill is an odd duck. I've taken quite a few good shots with it, but it's temperamental and is very sensitive to light leaks. If not exposed in perfect conditions it gets pretty sour, which is actually nice for adding atmosphere but doesn't make things look very pretty. I'm kind of eager to try it in 120 format.

I've also had strange results with Cinestill 800.

I've got an album with similar red splotches: Cinestill 800T Scans
