That just using a hotshoe flash? The lighting is surprisingly even.
Yup, it's the AT-280 or whatever it's called. Nice flash, works well with the LX, though I guess it's still not a good idea to point the flash right at people. Whatever, I was going for a harsh look.

I hope I haven't done this before - just rummaging around in my old scanned slides and it grabbed my attention - this was with the Z-1 and 400mm lens on Velvia 50

I was a carpenter for most of my working life. My parents and I owned and operated a company that specialized in heavy timber construction that mostly utilized traditional hand cut mortise and tenon joinery. I did most of the design work, and ran the shop.
Here's something I wrote about it a few years ago

Also, our company was named SwiftSure Timberworks, hence my forum name Swift1.

These are excellent and certainly speak of winter. Inspiring, I have some Ilford Delta 400 on the go now.

Haha, that's not me in the picture, it's my friend Lindsay, who I use as a model mostly because he's around and doesn't really want to be paid.

And I leave it up to your interpretation. It's, like, art, man.
