This was posted in the monthly photo contest but didn't get a lot of traction...
I set up my KX of a tripod in the back seat of my friend's brand new 1984 Toyota and we drove around town for a few hours...
This is a 15 second exposure at f5.6 with an SMC Pentax A 35-70mm Zoom lens, using Kodachrome 64 slide film...

K-1 shot with the K1000

Although I mis-typed the lens as it was the M50 1.7, not the 1.4.

Here is a scan of my grandfather's photo. He took it in the 70s in a little town where he grew up.

Family life has kept me away from the forum for quite some time.
Anyways here are some recent vacation shots, getting back in to film :-).
All on Agfa Vista 200 with my trusty Pentax SPII & 55mm SMC Takumar f1.8.

400 b+w (sorry, I lost the plot*)

*Edit: to clarify, I've been using Tri-X and HP5 and, TBH, after running them through the scanner and PP, am hard-pressed to spot any glaringly obvious unique, characteristics at screen res.
And, since they're at least a month old (and sometimes much longer) by the time I get around to posting them here, I can't accurately remember what film I loaded for that shoot.
So, I don't think appending this info, however (in)accurate it may be, is going to be particularly edifying to anyone else who may be curious about film characteristics.

My K 55/1.8 has a very similar bump on the filter ring, just like yours... same spot!

Good capture. Sharpness is overrated.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I find that I often crop my 17's photos down quite a bit. Mostly I use it to get everything I'm after in the frame, but then I usually have a huge amount of empty foreground in the photo. So I crop . . . almost defeats the purpose.
Hi, If you were referring to my pic from the Corrida I thank you, ian

It’s a great shot with good tonal range. And I’d agree with you, once scanned HP5 and TriX have quite similar characteristics.

That lens was a freebie many years ago. I wanted a Sigma 28mm and bought one off eBay, the seller offered me a free “beat to hell” lens if I covered the shipping difference, so why not? The Sigma is long gone, but my beat up K55 1.8 with perfect optics is a real gem.

@stevebrot I think edon31 is referring to my bent filter ring.
I think you are right. I read it as aperture ring. I will delete.
