^ I have yet to succeed on digital to get a good picture of Wilbert there (the dog), without blowing the highlights. I think you can see why.

Shoved the 70-210 in my bag when I went out with friends the particular weekend of this shot, and glad I did since I made use of its macro functionality more than I did the wide-angle I had been planning on using.

Canon AE-1.
Canon New FD 70-210mm f4.
Kodak Portra 400.

Great shot. And one of my favorite color films. Too bad it’s gotten hard to find.

Thanks! It’s a pretty great cheap film. Luckily still pretty readily available here in Belgium for under € 5. Building up some stock in my freezer as we speak since it was sadly discontinued recently :-(.

I’m working on putting some in the freezer also, but what should be $4 is selling at some places for upwards of $10

I am curious how the ballon story goes on... and will terminate...
As I discovered, much to my sorrow, as a young child, blades of grass act like blades of glass on an inflated balloon. The outcome is predictable if not inevitable.

That’s too bad.. I’d send some your way but since the local price converts to roughly $6 + shipping that probably wouldn’t represent big savings. Not factoring in the risk of customs confiscating the whole lot 😬.

We lost two balloons on the shoot and both of their demises were due to grass.

I actually have pictures of the aftermath, but they are too horrible to post in public (also they turned out rubbish)
