A while back I bought a locked-up Spotmatic at a thrift store.
Thanks to the wonders of the internet, I was able to figure out what was wrong and fix it pretty quickly.
Lo and behold, the thing worked great, even the meter, though the viewfinder was full of disintegrated foam and the battery door was chemically welded to the baseplate...
I got some great photos with it on a trip to Montreal a month or so ago, but near the end of the trip, the meter started going (presumably the battery finally dying).
Happily, Duane (17dew) had a spare baseplate with a working battery door, and once I got a battery (wow, expensive compared to the V76s in the K1000), I was in business again... thanks, Duane!
It did pretty well, though I did check most of my exposures with the phone meter (and they were generally within a stop of each other).
These are both on Ektar 100...
With the 50mm f1.4 at probably f5.6 or f8...
And with the 120mm f2.8. also probably at f5.6...
Having a meter is handy, but I think I prefer the ergonomics of my H1a if I'm going to go screwmount.
