I'm not actually sure what to do with the 180mm for this camera. It's a nice lens, but the 12ft minimum focus distance makes it almost useless for portraits. Where it really seems to shine is documentary use when you need just that little bit extra reach. Probably not surprising for a press camera telephoto, I suppose, but not all that useful to me outside of events like below.

Konica Rapid-Omega 200.
Tele Omegon 180mm f4.5.
Fuji Pro 400H.

I guess your stuck with using an extension tube or closeup adapter if they exist. Some of the Pentax 6x7 Takumar telephotos had terrible minimum focusing distances, but there were extension tubes available to shorten it.

Could you mitigate that with a closeup filter or really short extension tube?

What’s the filter size? Could you use a Raynox closeup and do macro?

Yeah, I've used the shortest macro tube a few times on my 6x7 when I needed to get just a tiny bit closer. The short telephotos for it are generally close focusing enough that I find I can work with them without it.

Biggest problem with a tube or a closeup adapter in this case is that you pretty much have to use them with the ground glass back. Supposedly quite fiddly, and somewhat defeats the point of using a Rapid. I've mostly resigned myself to not shooting portraits except with the 90mm.

The other option I've seen given is "get the 135mm lens, it focuses closer than the 180". Except it was produced for such a short period of time that the cost of that one lens easily surpasses the entire rest of the system combined.

You did say Omega, and I clearly ignored that

Yeah, rangefinder + closeup = pain...

Did they make a closeup kit with a finder attachment? It would probably be in the ‘more than the rest of the system’ price category...

They made either two or three of them, but only for the 90mm. They're fairly uncommon and I've never bothered to look hard enough to find out what the going price is. Probably cheaper than the 135 at least, if only because they're not as desirable.

I can see your photo just fine (Win 10, Firefox)

That aside, it has been a long time since you were last here. Welcome back!

Monaco Grand Prix this weekend, here is a shot from the "Casino" corner in 2002.

(Pentax KX & K55/1.8 shooting some form of Ektachrome/Elitechrome)
