My thoughts exactly, even without seriously trying it first. I'd like to be able to at least use it with the RAW files my Samsung S8 can generate (but does so only as an optional setting in the "Pro" setting of the camera app). Ideally I'd be able to feed it RAW files from my K-3, whether on the phone or on a computer.

Wow, I downloaded the app just now, and what I did was, I opened up my photo editing software and then called up some 35mm B&W negatives I've duped with my SONY NEX 7.

With the negatives open on my laptop's screen, I employed the app, and actually obtained quite impressive results. What a cool app! I can't wait to try it with some real negatives, see how they do -- color as well as B&W.

Do you use NLP with your Epson? I've been considering going down that route...

No, I'm pretty happy with what I get from Epson Scan.
I've just seen what Huss Hardon is getting from it and IMO it's by far the best colors I have seen come from the DSLR scanning method.

<sigh> I guess I'm gonna have to learn how to use Light Room first. It just doesn't make sense to me. But I know it's just me, since I see what sort of results others have been getting out of it. But Negative Lab Pro does look outstanding. A different league from that Kodak app though.

Yes, I know. What's really holding me back is it'd require me to move to Lightroom. I find it amazing these days that the major image processing packages don't all have some kind of built-in method for processing photos of negatives.

I don't know if I would benefit from the product, but the tips in the user guide are a worthy read for anyone doing their own scans...

Steve
I dropped off the first roll I shot with it on Tuesday, so it should be coming back soon.

My copy is in a bit rougher shape than I was led to expect. It's not way worse or anything, but the clamshell and focus lever are pretty stiff, and the viewfinder shutter speed needle tends to get stuck. I'll bring it up with the seller when I get the results of my roll back, in case there is anything more to report.

I do like the camera, though, the form factor is crazy. It won't replace my LX, but compliment it.
