So I managed to get out today and shoot a quick test roll with my recently acquired Canon LTM 50/1.4
So far, the lens is working great and I like it.
Here are a few wide open shots. I think the rangefinder on my Canon 7 might be slightly off, as both these are slightly back focused.
This first one is me, taken by my caregiver. Both were shot with my Canon 7, on Fujicolor 100

Final shot that I took of my father at the airport. The sun had already gone under the horizon.
Portra 800 with the Spotmatic II and a SMC Takumar 55mm f/1.8
I have to say the colours you're getting for this whole set are very nice indeed.

Another one from Geneva, this time some of the local swans. I think they might have been hoping that I had some food (sadly not)!

Rolleiflex 3.5A, Fuji Pro 400H
Very nice result.

Here's one from my recently acquired SMC Pentax 55/2. Shot wide open, on some Kodak Gold 200 that expired in 2003.

Pentax KM
SMC Pentax 55/2
Expired Kodak Gold 200
Epson V750
The 55mm Takumars are my favourite, in my view better than the 50mm f/1.4.

Focus on the first one looks OK to me, at least at the display size here. The second one is definitely off though.

It's partly that gorgeous 55mm 1.8, with radioactive element in this case.
Partly the Portra 800, which for my taste results in the best colors and grain. Even though I do have to give up some detail for it. Price however would be the biggest downside for this film.
And of course all the pollution in the air.

I worked there as a student loading bags into airplanes, and every single sunrise/sunset is just wonderful due to all the burnt up kerosene floating about.

Another one from Geneva, this time the lake. I was really excited about the different colours of blue when I took it, but I've had a bit of a hard time with the composition -- I think this crop is my best effort.

I have a love-hate relationship with composition and my Rollei...

When a picture wants to be square, it’s obviously perfect, but I always mess up aspect ratio when I try to crop perfectly in-camera.

Completely agree! I actually enjoy composing square most of the time, but when I don't it's challenging like you say...
